OP, does your snorkel effect your sight lines while driving? I am really interested in getting the same one you have.
    Thanks

I too have the airflow snorkel. It doesn't obstruct your vision at all.

Same here...Just tell yourself its better than drugs...

Trucks looking sweet. Question, any reason you went with the VR10000S winch over the other models? Would you go with a different one if you had to do it again...

And I know I sent you a PM last yr asking how much Line-X charged for the front bumper, you gave me what they quoted you, what'd you end up paying for it to be primed and Line-Xed. Did you get the inside of the bumper done as well?

    Winch:
So when I bought my bumper I wasn't going to buy a winch, but I said screw it and charged it anyway. If I was going to spend the money Warn was my only choice because I knew the quality was going to be there regardless. The reason I chose the one I did was pretty simple. At the time I had never even been off roading. According to warns website the VR series was an entry level winch, and well I was an entry level off roader. I figured I would use the winch maybe a few times a year (I was right). I went with the 10,000lbs because you want a winch that has at least two times the gross vehicle weight, and I like overkill. I figured some of the heaviest Tacomas I have seen weighed in at 5,000lbs. so I was good looking at a 10,000lbs winch. I went synthetic to save weight, safety and I like hawse fairleads over the rollers for cable.

If I could do it all over again I would do the same given the circumstances I was in. It wasn't worth the extra money at the time. If I was in my situation now (not totally broke), I would go with the Warn XPs 9.5. It is a higher quality choice.

If I know you at all from your build thread, you like the good stuff. Go with the XPs 9.5s.

    Bumper:
They did the best they could on the inside given the size of the gun they used. It was fully primed, but could only get in so good with the line-x. After I got is I sprayed the inside with a rattle can bedliner, just to be cautious.

One more tip: Drill a hole or two in the bottom sections to make some drain holes. You will see which ones can't drain, when you get it. It isn't necessary and I haven't done it. If I had a fresh metal bumper I would do it before spraying it with line-x so the water could drain out easy after a bath or water crossing.

Thanks for the input. Haha Yup, you are definitely right about me liking the good stuff. Guess I have some more research to do, I am set on a 10k and synthetic line. They also have another model out the Zeon 10s. Only thing that throws me off is so many guys have no issues with the XRC10.

Debating on POR15ing the inside of the bumper before getting it coated. If the primer and linex and rattle can have held up with no issues that's probably the easier method. Will look into drilling some drain holes.

    I can't wait! :D

I know I hate waiting! I can't wait to get my Rear High Clearance and roof rack from Pelfreybilt!!!

Honestly I think POR15 is a great idea to use as a primer, then line-x (so much money for something that gets beat up :(). I think that would be the ultimate set up. I don't know much about POR15, but that stuff appears to be incredible.

I am not sure what I want to do for my rear bumper and roof rack. I think probably line-x. Not sure.

I'm down to either Line-X, or Powdercoat. Honestly the thought of spray painting the bumpers just doesn't sound fun to me. I'd rather pay to have it done, once and right. My Bruteforce HC rear and Pelfrey front should be showing up around the same time.

Cool, I can't wait to see your truck all armored up! When are you expecting them to arrive?

I hate painting, mostly because of how long it takes.

Interesting haven't heard of that. Does it help when sitting on cold toilet seats?

    jk
Yeah I will probably line-x mine as well so that it matches my front and sliders.

As I told Aaron in our PMs, I used POR 15 and prep is necessary and I do NOT recommend black cote (their topcoat) I wish I would have used POR15 on my Pelfreybilt then used a bedliner on top. The black cote chipped from the stones on the road and flaked, exposing the POR15 and then it chipped and the bumper now has lots of tiny surface rust spots. In a couple weeks I will be removing it and stripping it to bare metal and spraying the whole thing with bedliner.

Really? In that case I am going to just go with line-x again. Anytime I had small rust spots on my bumper or sliders I clean the area, spray a rust stopper on it, then bed liner, then a gloss black (to match the color). Almost every spot I did that to never rusted again.

It is good stuff but prep IS necessary contrary to a lot of people's word when I asked.
^See above. With proper prep it probably would be a LOT better but I would still use bedliner spray and not Black Cote

ETA is late March/April. :D Both builders are swamped. Should be a sweet combo, It was a tough decision between Pelfrey and Brute for the rear HC. Main reason I went Brute was because I wanted a shorty swing out and I know it won't interfere with my air tank location.

I've decided on Line-X or knock off Line X another guy I know has had luck with. (Lemons) depending on the price difference. The local shop got me for a good chunk of change for my sliders but they're still holding strong!! No issues with rust at all.

Cool we will have similar timing.

The only spot I had rust on my sliders were the BAMF Logo that they weld on. Now that I have used my sliders they have taken a beating on the underside. On my bumper there were a couple of the real tight corners.
