That's the "special tool" needed for the icons......almost cost as much as the oil.

I'll be down that way next weekend as well. Open for a Sunday morning run if you're in?

    Got into your shocks yet?

So you got a gallon and a quart for just your rears, or all four? Always good to have extra but I used maybe a half gallon for my rear 12" 2.0's. And the front coilovers were even less.

Have fun!! I kind of enjoyed the actual revalve part

That is hopefully for all four......? But :notsure: it's what I was told I would need. Haven't got into them yet. I have tomorrow off and no plans yet so after some fun at the beach in the morning I'll probably start with the rears...

The plan is to put my backup shocks on the truck and really take my time. It's not really something I want to rush since it's my first time and all. Might be pm'ing you sometime during the process. :)

Started this project tonight. And so far so good. Definitely a nice learning experience.

Had to stop for the night though. Found that the shims that were shipped to me have a larger ID than what's already on the Icons. Icon shims are .435" ID and my new ones are .5". Didn't seem right, so I'm going to call up DSM tomorrow and make sure.

spent a good amount of time playing with the truck last weekend and found that the new SuperBumps compress down to almost NOTHING when hit.......fortunately no damage. But it's crazy that these front bumps compress to a thickness way less the the stock bumps.

Oh well. made some custom spacers at work out of UHMW. 0.745'' thick should stop me where I need.

I didnt think they would compress down to nothing!! I mean, daaayuum!

I had some down time at work so I turned them down on the lathe. Luckily we have tons of this stuff just laying around work. Should have used the black stuff we have but that would have been more work....and I was a bit lazy today.

    Cool pic Timmy!!

The shocks went back together flawlessly. I took my time with the first one, and after that the second one was a piece of cake! It's way easier than I expected. But I haven't had a chance to really test them out yet. They were hydrolocked so I can tell they're better already! Haha

Now that I know what I'm doing I'm very tempted to buy a bunch of different shims and just keep changing things around until I like them. I finally found a spring compressor that will work so I'll be doing the fronts next weekend! Thanks for the help Marc!

Spill the beans on this spring compressor that will work! I used ratchet straps and was not impressed with my idea...lol plus it took forever. haha yea once you get into them it's not bad, the only drawback is time it takes.

To be honest, the 2nd shock I did took about 20-30 min to rebuild and revalve. It took me longer to clean them. :anonymous: haha

Since I'm planning to revalve my shocks as many times as it takes to get where I want I need somethino that is quick and easy so I'm kinda making my own compressor. I sketched up some custom brackets that will mount to a bottle jack. Kinda like a mini press. I should have the brackets machined up in about a week. Hopefully for next weekend. I'll post some pics when it's done.

I saw your ratchet strap idea and also heard peope have even used zip ties, but I was too scared to even try anything like like. Lol!
