So I've done a couple night runs with the LED bar now and I feel like i need some more directional lighting. The LED bar lights up everything in front of the truck great, but going up and down switchbacks I can't see shit to the side of the truck on sharp turns. So I'm weighing my options and thinking about ditch lights.

Then I found this little servo laying around and it got me thinking...

    https://youtu.be/mv7eWguQL24

Servo controlled ditched lights powered by my steering wheel. So that when I'm in a sharp turn, the lights are pointing where I'm heading. :notsure: Seems like a decent idea but don't know if it would be REALLY worth it. I've got an easy enough idea and how everything would be mounted and set up, so I don't think it would be much effort.

Would it be worth it though?? :notsure:

Yeah, I've never been in a truck with "ditch" lights so I don't know exactly how much side coverage they give. My fogs do a decent job but they definitely don't put out to the side enough. And since they are pretty low, I've found they are easily covered by mud and essentially are useless.

The servos I found are waterproof, and "impact" proof, and lo profile so I would be pretty confident that they would hold up. Something very similar to what is used in the RC car biz.

I guess I could just get the lights first, and add them if needed? I just thought it would be pretty cool  but if they don't help, than there is no reason to put the work in.

Here's a couple photos I have of last weekends trip to Death Valley with Timmy and Kevin. It was a blast! We got to see almost everything we wanted to, but I will definitely be going back!

Thanks to Timmy and Kevin for a fun trip!!

Night 1 camp at Stovepipe Wells

    The Free Art Museum

    Titus Canyon

Saline Valley Hot Springs camp. We actually had the hot springs to ourselves all night, and only had the nudes come in right when we were leaving. haha

    Steel Pass

    Eureka Dunes

We had lunch and played some Bocce Ball while the guys hiked up the dunes!

    To The Racetrack

 Neither of these are actually lippincott pass. The first one is that pass from saline valley over to eureka dunes...Steel pass, I think? And the second one is descending into titus canyon right before that first mine we stopped at.

Yeah, there are a good amount. The main "highways" are at least. They weren't all that bad though. Just had to go fast for a smooth ride! :D

Yeah I would plan the trip quickly. It was already getting pretty damn hot up there this weekend. It was either cold and we needed a jacket, or too hot so everything had to come off. And it seemed to go back and forth every 20 minutes or so. lol!

I do, but I'm not that active. I do more looking than posting. name is ccubed61 if you're on it. @Manwithoutaplan (<------I had to try the new feature LOL!)

FYI, LED powered Bocce Ball in the desert at night is one of the best things to do! :p
