DirtKing hiem uppers went on today.

Only photos I got of it today. Will get more "gooder" ones this week.

The "solid" mount lower tabs didn't go on today since I ran out of time and need a bunch of it to set the alignment since the arms have to come off each time i need to adjust the hiems on the upper arm.

I'm stoked though because my cam tabs are almost all in the middle of their adjustment range at 2.8* caster and -.5* camber so when the solid mount tabs go on I wont have to adjust much with the upper!

Setting the new alignment took only an hour thanks to these bad ass turntables!

Yea the way i figured, I dont have to schedule an alignment, waste part of the day just going there and waiting, letting some jackoff drive my truck, and paying way too much. These will pay for themselves in two uses... no brainer and I like doing it so win win.

Gage, the DSM boxxed uppers are off and all cleaned up :D If you make it up to get em installed i'll align ya up

That's a lot of reading. I am going to wait for the discussion and try to get a summary from that.

Awesome! Did you notice any change in droop/bind compared to your other ones? I suspect they are going to transmit even more road vibes, but small sacrifice. I may go this route one day as well, those puppies look beef as hell :bananadance:

Only thing I am concerned about on the lowers is the position of the zerk, worried it is going to get ripped off pretty quick. I may remove them and put in a plug for every day use and just swap the zerk in for greasing.

I have read that many times, and don't see how there is a conclusion that gussets are a waste. It discusses the issues and proper methods of welding on the spindles, and shows a few cases of failed spindles. I don't think you could conclude one way or the other that the gussets are going to strengthen or weaken them without a large study of failed spindles and analysis of the failures, as well as non-failed spindles. I did mine because I am of the line of thinking that they are not going to hurt, and can potentially save a catastrophic failure, all for a very small cost in the grand scheme of truck modding.

    Disagree completely.

    Mis welded ones are.

But no way a properly welded gussested spindle is less strong then a stock one. There are plenty of bent stock spindles that could have been saved from a gusset.

Now..if you don't romp hard enough or have a torch setup and or oven. Don't need them and can't install them.

But I know how Marc drives and 2nd gen spindles are weaker then 1st gen ones, he needs them.

I didn't get a tape measure on it compared to the previous DSM arms but I'm gonna definitely need straps... I noticed some witness marks on the uniball cup from where the missalignment spacer/bolt contact the cup/arm at full bump and droop  I'm pretty sure the bump travel witness mark was from before I got the correct spacers under my superbumps.. But that shit needs to end or I'm going to have major front end shreddage soon from that bolt breaking...

The feeling is a bit tighter with the hiems on the upper arm but honestly it doesn't feel much different. The front end of my truck is so tight now with this setup, I freakn love driving it because the inputs on the steering wheel are so responsive and the feedback is really nice.

On the zerks... mine are tucked up behind the pelfrey skid enough that I doubt i'll ever hit them, and if they do get ripped off it's not the end of the world since that joint would still work fine until I could clean out and re tap the hole for a new zerk or plug like you're talking about.

Yea, do them right and hell yea they help!! Pressure is on Monte :D

And what are you trying to say??! I just love going fast! The more skinny pedal you use the smoother it gets  :burnrubber:
