Just bought a used Xrunner, and want to fix it up but need a starting point for some mods.

I intend to compile info as to stock specifications for my 2009 here, in a simple format so I know what my starting point is.

Any help and information would be greatly appreciated.

Of course there will be mods but they will be budget sensitive.

    The Blue Boss!

New Wheels and Tires - thinking about American Outlaw Patrol Rims

Airbag Lift kit  ( I would like to lower it for showing off but raise it for riding around, not sure if I could still use it for hauling?)
Satoshi Grill with "KILTED TACO" on the Front
Locking Fuel Door ( someone put sugar in my Nissan Last summer)
    Underhood Lights
    Console/cluster LEDS

You're also correct on the lug pattern info..

I believe you meant homelink, as opposed to homesite as well.

In the end it's to each their own.

But to give some insight... The X-Runner is a limited numbered truck, They only make xxx amount a year. It was Toyota's answer to the Ford SVT Lightening and Dodge Ram SRT/10... Except, Instead of stuffing in a large engine (2011 X-Runner RTR [not production model] has a supercharged 5.7L V8 from the Tundra) they kept with the 1GR-FE V6 with the only transmission choice being a 6 Speed manual transmission and instead of the 3:73 Gears the other 6 Cyl Tacoma's got for some reason they're fitted with 3:15 Gears... Toyota thought it would be more beneficial (cheaper) to get it to handle instead go fast in a straight line (boring). So they aimed for one of the best Japanese handling machines available in 2005. The Nissan 350Z, On a race track or curvy mountain road it will keep up if not do better then the Z, Doing a sports car level 0.90G on the skid pad. That was achieved due to a "special" tuned bilstein suspension that lowers it .5" then a regular 2WD Tacoma, A X-Shaped brace near the spare tire in the rear to keep the body stiff and flat (in the corners), and 2 frame braces in each front corner matched with the stock Potenza tires.

The X-Runner has faults that TRD happily fixes with aftermarket support... Want more go fast? They got parts for that like a Cold Air Intake, A Supercharger and exhaust. Wan't better braking power? They have a big brake kit made by stoptech. Hate our sloppy shifter? They have a Short Shifter and ball knob... Because the X-Runner is more set up for track days and canyon carving. A lot of us X-Runner guys are CAR enthusiasts that for one reason or another needed a truck and found that the X-Runner has best of both worlds. So generally we are more aimed at making ours go fast and handle better... Not everyone though see's our trucks similarly, Like your wish list posted is completely opposite to what the X-Runner's intended purpose is for.

Air bags will greatly compromise the handling capabilities, I know this because I have a friend that bagged her X-Runner. I love that girl, But her taste are questionable to me...

Just some idea's of how I think a SWB X-Runner should look... Functional and look good.

    For your mod list
LED Lights = Your tail lights and 3rd brake lights are already LED... We have a sponsor here that will chime in eventually.
Head Unit = Anything pioneer or kenwood
Wheels = This isn't a very tall truck, Those wheels belong on a lifted silverado
Airbags = I already expressed my distaste for it... If you want a good looking set up, Hit up XIIperformance for moderate, or if you want dumped look into DJM. Don't forget QA1 rear adjustable shocks... And yes Airbags will make it a bit more of a bouncy ride when loaded down.
Everything else sounds good, Except the dual exhaust... You have the Xbrace to maneuver around so it'll make it more difficult to get a dual exhaust put in as well as having the ground affect kit to worry about.

Nice!!! honest opinion on the rims.... I think the outlaws are for the wannabe cowboy in the gold plated, 24" lifted Ford F20050. Again, to each their own. I'd get something a little more sporty for an X-runner however. And don't forget the TRD Supercharger! :D

Thank You, this was very informative, When I bought this a month ago my thought was this was Toyota's attempt at a low rider, (because of the Ground effects kit). Had no idea it was limited number.
I will definitely think on what you said.

These are some sharp trucks, no doubt about that, but do you know if they have been lowered?

I ask because they appear to be much lower than mine ( I will measure ground clearance when I get home) indicating my suspension may not be as stock as I initially thought if those pictured have not been lowered.

As for the rims on my wish list, I still think they will look fantastic on this, there was a dealer with a website program that would let you preview the rims on your vehicle, and they were hot! :)

    Gotta find that vendor again.....

    Found them, http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/in...pc=69662&rcc=Wake+Forest&vid=014527&rc=NWFINT

Yes... the 2 middle ones have the SOS drop kit that lowers it 2" and the rest appear to be DJM that is 3/3" or 3/4".

I intend to keep it classy, but even then you have to have some personal style.

I did put the led knob on there but will most likely take it back off.

The shifter shroud just won't stay in place as it is, and keeps falling back down the shifter.

Nobody ever said 24's. I was just showing what they looked like. :annoyed:
