Decided my G37s that I got instead of a Tacoma wast the right choice.

Good looking truck man! I like your old car also.

I think the only thing I would have done different (I know you didn't ask ;)) is I would have put Bilstein 5100's all the way around then coils in front and a AAL in the rear for your lift. Other than that it looks like it is shaping up nicely!

Oh... please don't do the "Knight Rider" thing in the scoop.

Before you Debadge the truck have you considered Plasti-Dipping them? I debadged my last truck and I do like the clean look but I Plasti-Dipped the new truck and I actually like how they turned out.

Thanks. Yeah that car was a beast, but didn't suit my needs.

I might still do that version of a lift, I really jumped into the truck thing without knowing too much. See this thread...

    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/280911-little-advice.html

I was gonna dip them, but after dipping my rims I said screw it. I only did the tail gate so far, and if I can't get the ghosting from the badges to go away I might settle for dipping before doing the doors.

Yeah I guess after 3 years on a black truck there would be some "ghosting" where the badges were. It looks good though man. I dig the all black look!

So you wouldn't have gone the toy tech or OME route? Can I still switch to that? Pros/cons?

I think he was making that suggestion because it's the least expensive way to "properly" lift a truck, with less adverse effects on the drivetrain/suspension than spacer-lifts.

Simply replacing the stock shocks with adj. Bilstein 5100's will give better results than spacer lifts. And they're fairly inexpensive...

ToyTec sells just the shocks also, 5100's @ all 4 corners for about $370. Fronts will give you up-to 2.5" of lift.

If you add the rear AAL, it's $450... Another $30 for the diff-spacer kit ($480 total).

    Decent entry-level 2.5" fr / 2" rr lift for under $500.

Thanks John. I am really thinking about going this route. It seems most people reccommend it. Would I need UCAs or different brake lines? I wouldn't need the diff spacer kit for a 2WD would I?

    Yeah this^^^

If I decide to put a small lift that is the way I would go since I don't do any hard core off roading.

Yeah I personally would but I would be just leveling it out with the front shocks. In your case if you want more lift then yeah coils would be good.
