Hey everyone, thought I'ed make a build thread of what I've done so far to my tacoma. She is a 2005 SR5, with about 100K on her. As my first rig, I don't want to dump thousands into it, just incase something happened (and I feel like something is more likely to happen to it now, since I'm in high school..). Anyways, This is what she looked like the day we brought her home:

    Lucky kid.

An '05 with 100K? That truck should be trouble free for along time unless you beat on it. How harse are Vermont winters on the truck?

I don't know if these picture are working or not... but moving on to what I have done to the Taco. I hated the stance of it when i bought it. It was low, and I think this was due to the old shocks and so on. After MUCH research I decided to throw Bilstein 5100's all the way around. I also added a 1 inch block in the back and set the front Billies to he middle notch ( i think 1.75 inches of lift?)

After this was done, I was looking into getting new rims. I decided, instead of spending 600 bucks on some rims, I would just Plasti Dip the ones that were on it. I don't like doing thing cheaply, but I wanted to try this. It came out GREAT. It was such an easy process and I love how it looks. I would recommend to anyone.

For Christmas I got some CoverKing seat covers. I gotta say, they are awesome. The installation was a little tricky on the drivers seat, but it is worth it.

Winters are rough. Being such a light truck in back, I had to keep it in 4WD for a lot of it. this mud season with all the pot holes is even worse.

That pretty much all the upgrades of done so far, except for a Uniden Marine radio I got for hunting up in Maine and so on. IMG_0063_zps7771fedf_6d00e0a6c03b6e8168bcbd2182c0d0badbf0be95.jpg

My next project is to make a back rack (headache rack) for it. I went and got the steel the other day and made a wood mock up ( i'm using 1/8 inch 2X3 rectangle and 2.5" angle iron, and 3/4 expanded steel in the middle. Here is Google sketch thing I made for it, and some other pics: IMG_0066_zpscf99ed87_a57fe92d73e10c14dcdf91b87c58f113932d9f80.jpg

I also had wanted to make a HomerTaco Satoshi Grille mod. But upon getting mesh to make it with, I decided I did really want to cut up my whole grille and fab this thing, so I just painted it red and attached it behind the stock (color matched) grille. I think it came out good. its pretty subtle, and only easy to see up close. IMG_0057_zpsbd236a2d_207abd22234a9d30326a942254bb98caad4a0b3a.jpg

dont worry about stuff happening......just enjoy the truck and put all the money into that makes you happy. I've always learned that the more time you spend on something, the more you appreciate it.

Subd for the headache rack. Looks great buddy. As for rims that's a tough one on here. A lot of diff ones on here. I went pretty cheap with pro comp alloys 7089.
