Hey guys I'm new to this forum but wanted to start a build thread. Picked up a 08 dcsb sport with 64k on it back in march.

Pretty nice truck. I drove it around for a couple weeks and then got a flat tire.

So since it had a flat tire I decided it was time to out a cage in it

Got it all stripped down so I can start figuring out where to put all the tubes.

You got a flat tire, so you decided to build a cage???

That must have been one traumatic flat tire...

Frame plating for the b pillar and link mounts. The carrier bearing crossmember also ties in to this plate too. There are no extra holes in the plate for more weld surface because it will be done on the back side using the factory holes in the frame

Roof bar in. Got it nice and tight all the way across. These cabs are a pain to cage because they are so rounded. Also started to do some sound insulation.

i must agree with the op, a flat tire surely means a cage is required!

looking forward to seeing how this "flat tire prevention" goes

That's pretty much all up to date now beside the few things from this weekend that I don't have pictures of. Also I'm sure you could guess it but I had plans to do this before I bought the truck. The flat tire just so happened to happen the day I was pulling it in the garage.
Game plan for the truck is:
    Full cage
    Lt frontend
Link the rear while keeping the stock tank and bed.

Needs to be fully functional for dirt and street. So it will still have the stock belts as well as 5 point harnesses and full interior. It should have all the ac/heater vents working still. We do a lot of long distance off road trips. In October we went from Barstow,ca to the Grand Canyon all off road. It was about 500 dirt miles worth.
