    Welcome,

I've been lurking for a few months now and thought I would share my build that I've copied from other various members on TacomaWorld. This is my 2nd Tacoma, but first attempt at adding any modifications. Also, I have no prior mechanical experience other than Legos and Model Cars as a kid, so no laughing. Here we go.

Previous Taco: 2008 Silver DCSB Prerunner TRD Sport - 80k Miles

I found a good deal online in South Carolina and decided it was time to upgrade. I wanted the 2012+ Front End, but the used prices for 2012's & 2013's were too much, so I pulled the trigger on a new 2014.

    New Taco: 2014 Super White DCSB 4x4 TRD Sport w/ Navigation & JBL - 200 Miles - MSRP $35,583
Price: Trade-In + $15.5k OTD (Decent Trade -IMO I left about $1k on the table, but I wanted it today)

Day I brought her home (6.21.2014):

First Mod (6.22.2014) - Removing the $200 Pin-Stripe (Useless Stealership....) , TRD Sport Sticker, Toyota Badge, and Dealer Logo. Also, purchased the Tacoma Bed Mat (No Pic):

More coming. Going for a light off road while keeping the stock look build (e.g. no trail armor or significant body mods). Hopefully it will look pretty clean in the end.

Saving up for wheels and new tires. Maybe a little more lift.

Ah sweet, nice to meet you. Yeah, it's a decent area, easy access to 400 and 285. I'm currently saving for some additional mods but might seriously take you up on your offer if you know anything about electrical wiring. I'm thinking about bed lights and light bar upfront.

Sorry for the slow reply, but I did a lot a research before I tried it. Because like you, I was pretty sure I would mess up and ruin my headlights. Overall, I think they turned out really well.
My only screw up was that once I finished and had them back in the truck, I was putting the parking lights back in the headlights and the bulb fell out of the socket and is somewhere inside my headlight. It's not visible, but it's rolling around in there somewhere.

Here a rough idea of what I followed:

1.) Removal video by Leim Salim: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/213178-2012-headlight-grill-removal-2.html
The third screw is a real bitch. My dad and I probably spent 15 minutes on each side trying to unscrew it, and then 20 minutes to get it back on.

    2.) Materials and Guide: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/lighting/65226-how-black-head-light-mod.html

    My own tips:

    (1) Use a t-shit or rag to protect the headlight lens as you are pulling the lights out and putting back in, its very easy to scratch the lens on the truck frame. (2) I used Krylon Fusion Black Satin and it looks clean after the "pre-burn". (3) When you place them in the oven use cardboard, and place the glass side up. I placed the glass side down on the first one and some the sealant ran down as it became hot. (4) I used thick gardening gloves to pull them apart, because they were too hot for my bare hands. Also, I had to pull a lot harder than I though, and that was with my sister helping me hold the headlights as I pulled.
