You know man, all the grumping and shit on this site aside, I really do like that system. I do wonder, though, about the fact that it's basically simulated wheel-hop and what that will do to the truck in the long term as far as durability.

It ain't lockers. But it sure as shit makes LSD and open diffs look awful silly.

It's funny though, because on our last URE run, I did an obstacle which was a bit tuff for my vehicle and put the armor to work for a bit, and then a SAC'd 85 4runner on 37" IROKs walked through it in 2Lo/Locked rear.

Just goes to show you can't have your cake and eat it too...if you want a street legal, aesthetically pleasing truck, you ain't gonna be the baddest thing on the trails.

Now, where the hell is my front bumper!?!? :p

Trucks lookin good! I feel ur pain on waiting for armor. It'll get here I know It will! :D Most trails here are still snow packed anyway. A few ski resorts are gonna open up again cuz of fresh snow! On an atrac note I agree it works good for when a tire is off of the ground but it really ain't for rocks. If we had a 4.7:1 transfer case then it might work better for wheelin tough obstacles but having to be on the gas for it to work takes me out of my comfort zone of control. But anyway nice truck!

Thanks man! Larry and I got together today and beat the living fuck out of my skid plates to get them back flat.

The transfer case was actually sitting on the inside of the transfer case skid after this incident! Also, the transfer case skid crossmember was bent...we had to pull all that shit out, beat it flat (including the crossmember!) with an enormous fucking sledge, then we welded some strategic angle iron onto the backside to hopefully keep this from happening again.

We shall see...in other news, gears are expected before the end of July, and an ATO front bumper will be on as soon as I can goad Kevin into building it... :D

Impressive how well that skid held up to the weight of the truck. When(hopefully it's not an if) I build mine I plane to use some flat stock to cross brace it.

I didn't know you were regearing it. Are you going to lock the front?

Honestly, I see absolutely no need to do so. Locker in the rear with the Traction Control System That Must Not Be Named in the front will get me anywhere this truck should go.

Honestly, at this point I think the truck is clearance limited more than anything else. I don't think a front locker would help me.

Now...if it were *open* in the front...yes, I absolutely would be in that situation.

However...there's no telling if I'll drop it off at the shop and get a wild hair up, so be ready for anything...

With a locker you may be able to overcome the clearance issue with dragging it over stuff better which you seem to do quite well.:D
