Mine is just slightly lighter than his and does fine with stock gears. You notice it a bit when you really want to get up and go, but it's only slightly less than than stock. You still have plenty of power.

The KM2s are GREAT for mud (they are mud tires after all). For the terrain you describe they should be perfect, where they start to fall short is snow and ice, though I have wheeled plenty of snow, and she keeps going.

As for wear, they last surprisingly long considering they are a mud terrain, but dont expect all terrain life out of them. I honestly do not really know how long a set will last because I have always had to replace them from rock damage, etc before they wear out, but they do surprise me how slowly they seem to wear.

I have not re-geared. It is on my list still, but have been driving for probably 30K or so with stock gears. The only time I really notice it is trying to start on a steep hill (Really steep), or if Im against a large rock, the clutch will actually slip before she can transfer enough power to get the wheels moving. but that is not due to the wheel size, it is due to me being 1500 lbs over GVWR haha.

For normal practical driving and offroading she works just fine. When offroading, I am in 4wd low, so there is PLENTY of torque to get me though anything. And as long as I am going at highway speeds she doesn't care, she will climb up hills (such as the grape vine here in so cal) all day long rolling at 75 in 6th gear.

Is that a 40 Gigawat 3-barreled ZF Mod 1 laser (the one they used to destroy the Death Star) on your back tire. I thought so and somehow I am not surprised!

This really is a great build and between yours and McGrims, I have been busy for a few nights cutting and pasting and preparing to steal ideas for my own build which is slowly moving along (I have my CBI rear bumper ordered).

I am curious about heat retention for the tent part of the FlipPac. Have you used it in any really cold weather yet???

ANy chance you can take some measurements for the 3.0 tray? Would like to do one similar. ACR, 12 Fuse block and 2 Breakers so far. Have some aluminum I was thinking of using to make one. I do not have access to a press break though.

Awesome truck Barlowrs! What a great detailed build. Have a question, where can I get the quick fists flashlight holder. I have not been able to find anything. Thanks!

I really dig your truck man, I especially like the way you mounted the head unit for your CB radio!

I know it's a sort of done build thread. Just wanted to stop by and say this.
Your truck and build thread is the reason I signed up here and started modding my truck with an overland/expedition setup as a goal.

    Awesomest truck EVER!
