No the yellow is just a primer the final paint will be a two tone to match the interior and frame. It is a custom gold top and the scion black on the bottom with the lexus silver separating stripe.

    Thanks for all the comments!

    new interior in the works:
black wood grain for the head liner, and a new black carpet. The plan was to do the dash gold and stock black but after putting it together it just didnt look right. SO... I took it all back apart and did the black parts with the mica. lots more work to come on the interior to completely change it to its new look if I ever find time to work on it.

Damn! Looks like you are doing it right! Not quite my taste, but for what it is, it looks like high quality work. That rear suspension and frame work is SICK. Nice job!

    thanks!

yeah the tube work took awhile to finish but it was well worth it. Drove it back to the shop for the first time in about a month, I am hoping to have time to work on it soon.

welded up the hole for my old gas filler and drilled a hole for the new location of the fuel cell i changed over to. Still need to find or make a door for it though.

off topic I don't know how to move this thread but obviously it should be in the 1st gen section.

Not my style at all, but I can appreciate the work and creativity. Just FYI, if you want the truck to be legal you need red rear reflectors since the ones that were in the tail lights are no longer there.

A motorcycle cop that lit up my friend for his led taillights told him he needed to have reflectors, such as the ones in my third brake light. One of the reasons I kept it, I get pulled over more for my license plate being too low than anything. But it is true that there is technically supposed to be reflectors at the rear of the truck as well.

I finished all the new body mounts and notched the front of the bed so i could finally put it back on now that I have the new fuel cell sorted out. The best part about the new fuel cell is that now i need to weld up the old gas door and make a new one, this time I'm thinking flush mount round. keep an eye out for a RE-build thread of the other bodied taco in the picture.

more exciting cell phone pictures! I have been pretty busy with other peoples projects but find time here and there to chip away at my own. Made some interior progress, I stripped down the piece at the top of the door to metal, then put a layer of thick suede on it for a tiny bit of padding and then covered it with black ostrich. I recovered the piece I made for the top of the back wall with 5/8 batting to make it super soft and then wrapped it with black suede. I dont have any pictures of it but I also covered all the other surfaces of the back wall and and the rear pillars in black leather.

I also re-did the doors with the same batting and suede combo, it feels great. Finished the arm rest spruce up as well. I shaved the texture off them as well as the line and after attaching a piece of brushed steel to the top made them as smooth as glass and shot them with scion mica black and then cleared over everything. They look great in person and really kicked it up a notch from all the other trucks that just slap some paint on them. Just for fun I also flaked out the door lock hahaha. For now the door handles are painted to match but I am throwing around the idea of making my own handles from scratch, we'll see. wrapped the sails in ostrich to match as well. The doors are done aside from the speaker panels that are reworked much smoother and currently just awaiting paint.

    look at that reflection!

I also got the screens in the sun visors taken out and painted along with lots of other little parts like the mirror. Its a really great color when the sun hits it but it just turns up looking gloss black in all my cell phone pictures. And also a picture of the rest of the dash assembled. Next on the interior list is a new center console/shift boot/sub box/amp rack thing and some black and gold lexus floor mats.

Shaved the old gas door hole for the old fuel cell and cut a temp hole for access to the new one. shortly I will be welding in the fuel door hole from a Colorado bedside and the door from an S-10 in its place. It was bound to happen sooner or latter, a little bit of GM has sneaked its way onto the truck
