LOL...and since the Rugged Trail package was not available for 2010 I had to improvise. Vinyl to the rescue.

 

GPS is HEMA from Austrailia in flight and on its way.
Lights, Baja Designs, HID's or LED's and utility lights
CB and or 2m radio
S-Pod to keep it all orginized!
And to jump on the long chat about tires, you'll be hard pressed to find a better tire than the BFG's, I run them on my FJ and they have lasted longer than the KO TA's and they do get some awsome traction! Remember one thing when selecting tires, if you take three different brands all the same size( 265-75-16 for example), they will vary as much as an inch in height. So it may be a 32" tire on the chart and may actually be 31"-33"...... FYI

 

I know the KM2s are beast but what about everyday driving? I figure with Duratracs I can get both on and off road since most of my driving if on road but I do wheel my truck.

 

Up here in Julian they chip seal the highway and the KM2's on the FJ have done very well. Any AT tire will work, it's just the time you want that extra traction when the MT's make a difference.

 

I've run BFG MT's and really liked their toughness and performance offroad but I am going to give the Duratracs a try this time around... MT's on the snow covered paved roads here in WV can get a little uncomfortable and I have read good things about the Duratracs performance in snow…. I’m really enjoying following your build, it’s giving me some good ideas for my rig… Makes me jealous of you guys out west and all the beautiful places you have to explore. I remember my visit to San Diego many years ago and a night spent in the desert... But then again there is so much beauty right here in West ‘By God’ Virginia… Perhaps you will venture back east sometime. I’d be happy to show you some of my favorite spots in the Appalachians…

The US based magazine, Overland Journal, has published a small press release in their summer 2010 edition on

the HEMA NAVIGATOR 5” with a published price of $869.

The HEMA NAVIGATOR 5” GPS is a very successful product in the Australian off-road navigation market as it offers
both street navigation and 4WD navigation and comes preloaded with all of HEMA’s award-winning 4WD and
topo maps including full coverage of the Australian outback.
In Australia this product has a retail price of $990. However, it has not yet been released onto the US or
international market. Early adopters are more than welcome to purchase it direct from HEMA’s Australian head
office.
The export price of this product from Australia is US$800.00 (ex tax) with free international shipping (via FedEx)
included. Secure payment will need to be made prior to shipping.
HEMA will preload the device with a 12 month licence of Route 66 Street Navigation for your country of choice
according to availability from Route 66 but the purchaser will need to source their own local maps for the 4WD

Got my 6" Baja Designs Pre Runner HID's w/ amber lenses. Top quality and very bright. I also got some of their rock lights, which I'll install soon and post. Here's a couple of shots of them.

Going to start on the electrical and should get the roof rack in the next few weeks. After that it's getting the camping stuff inside.. Still looking into radios and trying to find some skids.

 

Any updates on mpg or missing power from before tires? Regear in the future?
