May 2nd I drove 125 miles to Manhattan Beach to buy my '08 SR5 Prerunner TRD Off Road Access Cab. I was able to save 2k over the best price I could find in San Diego.

2 days later I took off the door panels and proceeded to insulate the doors and cab floor with Raamat [IMG]
    and Ensolyte [IMG]
Day 4 I took my Tacoma to get my stereo system installed. The core of the system are the JL Audio ZR650-Csi component speakers [IMG]
The main speakers were mounted in the original speaker enclosures using a hard plastic adapter plate [IMG]
The tweeters were mounted in the stock location, and the crossovers were mounted in the doors [IMG]
The Alpine W505 head unit mounted perfectly in the dash [IMG]
I use the DVD, Bluetooth hands-free phone, radio, Sirius radio and IPOD which is controlled through the head unit. The amp is a Kicker ZX350.4, which is mounted under the driver's seat. [IMG]
I mounted the JL Audio subwoofer behind the passenger seat. [IMG]
That's it for the first 5 days.

Day 6. I went to mod day at All Pro Off Road in Hemet, CA this morning. I arrived shortly after 10 am, and paid for my Bilstein 5100's. No one had begun any mods so I was the first. I removed and re-installed the shocks while Mike at All Pro Off Road changed the springs to the new shocks. From the time the Taco went up on the lift until it went back down was only 45 minutes.

Yesterday I ordered my AFE cat back exhaust system from Amazon.com. I'm a Prime Member, so I get free 2 day shipping and Next Day shipping for only 3.99. I chose Next Day shipping for my exhaust system and it came today (Saturday) at 9:45am. First, over the past couple of days I've been buying some tools needed to perform upcoming mods. I'm a recently retired UPS driver who always took my cars to the dealer to have the oil changed.[IMG]

It had taken me 17 minutes to get the stock exhaust system out as I struggled a little bit with getting the hangars out of the grommets. A little lube sprayed on the grommets and problem solved.
I was happy that the exhaust system was in 3 pieces, as it would make the install easier.
The installation was super easy, and in only 11 minutes I was done. The sound is much more throaty, but not loud at all, until you stomp on the gas pedal. I'm very happy with the quality of the exhaust system and would readily recommend it to anyone.

Added MotoMetal 16x8 957's wrapped in Hankook DynaPro MT 295/75 16's. Had to do very minor trimming of front fender lips and plastic inner fenders.

I love the Hankooks. Very stable ride and extremely quiet on the highway. A pleasant surprise. The V6 pulls the extra 20 lbs rotating weight per wheel easily.

UPS dropped off my aFe Stage 2 CAI this morning.

It took me a little over an hour to do the install. Very well put together unit that goes in as per instructions.

Truck looks great! Like someone said, radiant red is the best color.

Also, do you happen to know what model number (if any) that exhaust was? and have you noticed any type of MPG difference between the stocker and the AFE?

    Chad,

I have to agree about Radiant Red.

aFe 49-46001 Mach Force Exhaust. I only installed the exhaust system on Saturday morning, so I haven't been able to notice any gains/losses in mpg. What I do notice is that the engine seems to run a lot freer. There is without a doubt, a noticeable gain in power. Your mileage may vary depending on the connection (or lack thereof) between your brain and your right foot.

I just realized that's your review on Amazon :D

I would have gotten radiant red if they had kept it till the 09 year... I don't know why they replaced it with that weird red they have now.

Here's a couple of pics of the trimming that I did to the front fenders. Scarab asked that I post a couple of pics for him. The first is of the left front at the rear of the wheel wheel:

This next photo is of the front of the wheel well:

    Jon,

You haven't seen anything yet. A lot more to come this month. Virtually all my remaining mods for this month will be done in Hemet. Hmmmmmmmmmmm?
