NC10TRDSPORT's DCLB Build
I have no goal for this truck. I want all the cool stuff but would never use 90% of it! I'm really just going to build it to handle mild trails and still be very good on-road and towing.
How it sits (9/7/14):
2010 BSP TRD SPORT DCLB 4x4
-5100s set @ .85", 1/2" driver side spacer, 1/4" passenger side spacer
-OME Dakar springs
-OME Nitrocharger N182 shocks
-Level 8 MK6 17x8 -10 offset
-Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx 295/70R17
-Mall crawlers don't need armor!
-Who needs to see?!
-Rear differential breather extended
-Rain guards (Trail FX)
-886 reverse light mod
-Weathertech floor mats (Fronts)
-Tacoma door sill protectors
-Custom LED lighting
-Uniden 520XL CB
-ImMrYo mirror bracket
-Trailer brake controller
-Clearing for tires
I bought the truck new on October 3, 2009 to replace my 1997 Dakota (318 5spd):D
In November I added a Readylift SST 2.75" F 1" R lift. It rode great and had no wandering. Also pictured is the Trail FX rain guards I added at the same time, and the Trail FX tube steps I added in January 2010.
April 2010 I got a Truxedo Lo Pro Qt. Nice cover but I would rather have a toolbox and will get one as soon as someone buys the cover.
^^^I found Tacoma World just before that pic and my life changed! Also my nice sticker mods (~50 hp) and partially debadged tailgate. First thing I saw on this site was a grillcraft grill with lights behind it. And that's what I did!
I have since removed the TRD badge and added a cheapo piece of mesh to the lower grill until I can score a cheap lower grillcraft. And I painted the radiator surround and light bar.
I had the TSB springs installed in November (no pics). They gave me back the blocks, but I never reinstalled them.
I bought a mat from tractor supply (one of the barn mats) for the bed and intalled a couple bike racks.
Fog light mod and DTRL mod
Then I got in on the Weathertech group buy. (dirty, I know)
^^^I ordered the door sill guards in the pic last winter and put them on myself. I also put a piece of clear 3m automotive tape around the edge of the rocker panel so my feet won't beat the hell out of the paint when using the steps.
This summer I had a Wicked Flow intalled and LOVE IT!
Around the same time I tried grounding the throttle body and a shit storm ensued.
Then a member (now gone) was changing from regular 5100s with eibachs to the toytec coilover setup so I bought his old ones from him and removed the Readylift.
I did so because the readylift had me slightly nose high, 1/2" or so and I didn't want it that high with stock tires so I was happy to go lower.
Lots more to come as you may have seen above... Stay tuned!
Bought a used lower grillcraft from jandrews (thanks man!), got it in the mail today and installed it this evening
Feb 21: Installed extra d-rings on the floor of the bed
Did some LED work inside the truck
Looks sweet. I like the lights behind the grille.
Love the DCLB's!
They did on mine
Ordered an AFE Pro dry S drop in filter this morning. Supposed to be here wed.
Lower grillcraft installed tonight! (Purchased on TW)
Lower insert looks tits man! Really helps to clean up the front.
Take good care of 'er ;)
Installed another set of d-rings in the bed this evening, pics tomorrow
Did some LED work, pics in post #2
Ordered Light Racing UCAs through Metal Tech group buy going on now, and got in on the B.O.R.A. wheel spacer group buy so I have (4) 1" wheel spacers that are to be shipped on thursday. Now to figure out what to do for a rear lift and tires.
Just ordered a set of Hankook Dynapro ATms in 265/70R17 flavor. Wanted 285s but didnt want to trim or remove mudflaps
Been a while since I updated:
Light Racing upper control arms
Hankook Dynapro ATM (265/70R17)
I also installed a CB. I'll post a pic of that soon
i read the whole "shit storm" thread. do you still have that hooked up? any problems?
Another long break without updates haha:
Ammo can mod a few weeks ago. I have since installed eye bolts for locks but haven't painted them yet
I also removed my tubesteps to paint the brackets and while doing so the nuts inside the tube began to spin. So a quick phonecall to my accessory shop and he had a new set ordered for me under warranty. They are going up for sale though because I just never use them and would rather have the money to buy other stuff.
Installed toolbox from JLink.
Towed some ATVs around. Made me realize how bad I need to upgrade my rear springs!
