I assume you'll thread the pole onto the bolt. Are you not concerned of the bolt bending under the windload with the flag and pole attached?

This baby!! Keep Calm Chive On! I'll soon be getting an American flag too.

I'm using a 8' 3/8 fiberglass pole from here http://aditudegear.com/gear.html that can withstand high speeds. And yes it just threads into the bolt.
