Notes
I promised myself that would not make any appearance modifications until I spent my money on performance parts. (Debadging doesn't count, it was free!) However, I like shiny things, and I like the color blue. So I ordered 3 LEDs, attached them under the dash and bench seat, then wired them behind the plastic in the truck up to the dome light. They turn on whenever the dome light does (open door), fade out like the dome light does, and are powered by the dome light. No splicing/tapping needed!

Basically, if you really want a supercharger and have the time and patience to fit it, go for it. Otherwise, wait for URD's kit.

Installing PLX A/F wideband, Stage 1

I will be doing this installation in three stages due to time, mostly. Today, I ran the sensor harness through the firewall, and attached the gauge. I have a location for the "brains" of the unit and a power source picked out. I just need to find a place to ground it. The last stage will be having a shop weld in a bung for the sensor itself.

Any tips on where to ground it? I may end up running the ground wire around the shifter assembly to the chassis, but it would be easier if there were a better spot I could reach in the cab itself.

Nice! More NE tacos on here. Stage two is complete. I didn't take any pictures, though. Bringing the truck in Monday to have a bung welded in. Maybe someday I'll understand why I decided to spend all this money on a 4-banger pickup. Meh, you only live once, right! 4-5 weeks until Supercharger arrives.

 

Installed the 'cheap traction bar' mod today. Went to Advance Auto and grabbed a $27 pair of helper leafs. Installed them backwards to hopefully eliminate axle wrap. I have the rivet on the highest tension setting. However, I am a little concerned that it will dig into the leaf and cause it to rust. Maybe, we shall see. Ride to work tomorrow will be the test run.

 

Got a bung welded in. Truck runs in the low 14's normally, only derivates when in fuel cut while decelerating or for some reason mid 13's for a few seconds after coming to a stop. Looks great! Now I just have to keep my eyes off it and on the road!

 

Looking good man...can't wait to see what the supercharger does for ya! I'd like to see 'er some day. I'm across the bridge in Nashua every Wednesday night for my son's drum lessons.

Bung for what? This is a supercharger, not a turbocharger (if that's what you're thinking of)

I think he is talking about the afr gauge o2 bung.

 

Oh, yeah, that makes sense. It's welded into the down pipe 4-6 inches downstream of the oxygen sensor. And I've been real curious about the X-Runner. Unfortunately, they don't sell them up here, haha.
