    OP do you know if this will work with the scoop you can buy for it? If so I might be down. I'm assuming thats what the opening pointing to the front of the truck will connect to but I;m not sure.

    Yessir! It works cause the mounting of the volant box was not changed so the scewp can be used! Affordable ram air lol!

    So what exactly is the purpose of the mod that was done to it? does it just attach cleaner with the piece of the stock air box attached to it?

    The mod aspect is that a portion of the breather for the stock air box was cut off to extend the portion of the volant box that goes into the fender to limit even further the amount of air being drawn from the warm engine bay. It also has a drain attachment that is very useful if you get water in there from water crossings. The other is that the air duct is modular and is not from the orginal kit but still works great! What I would do though if I were you as soon as I get it, before It is installed plastidip the duct it would look sooooooo much nicer lol. Unless chrome is ur thing!!!!
