I have an 07 Access Cab and have bent the tailgate enough to where it will not close now. I guess thats what a 250LB dirtbike will do without using a ramp. Does anybody know where i can get one (color doesnt matter). if you know of a place or person please inform me

    Damn that sucks.

I think there was a TSB for weak tailgate attachments.

Yup, can be found in 2nd Gen TSB Sticky
BO018-07 NOV 07 Body - Bent Rear Tailgate

You're outside the 3yr/36k, but maybe dealer could give you a break. Otherwise you're best bet would be to call around to local salvage yards.

It's so shitty that Toyota will only fix known problems while under warranty.

    That's how TSBs work.

If the issue is discovered well into production, they will sometimes cover it out of warranty for a specific window, but if the majority of impacted vehicles are still under warranty when the TSB is released, it's warranty-only. The tailgate TSB was released in November 2007.
Even if there were a window created for the '05 models, it would be long expired by now.

Safety issues are generally at the level of recall unless a TSB satisfies the Feds.
