Next time you sit down to make one. Would you do some video and pics of the process?

BeeRads camera rearview had me thinking about a custom console that spans a longer length of the headliner, screws into the sunvisor area for additional support. I want to do a rock camera setup. I have lots of the cameras sitting around, and thinking of getting some of the LCD/ OLED monitors in 5" 0r 4.3" for the cameras. They are only ~$20 each.

Thats in addition to having the switches in it. Would get a similar 12 panel. The monitor array could get tedious, thats why I want to try to tackle it myself. Would need to touch up on my skills big time.

Other IDEA was to build an array similar to these. Had one in my Z28 IROK back in the day. But instead of the mirrors, put the dual screen rear views. That way when they are off, they are still useful. If they were in the headliner area, like I would like to mould them with fiberglass. Then the already small windshield area would be free.

My inbox had a pre 4th of july party the other day because of people asking me about my overhead console. I know you're concerned over me getting bombarded so I sent them here instead, you got this right? K thanks

p.s. Oh hey SKYGEAR, that would be sick man. Got some ideas for more rock cameras myself actually. We'll have to talk about it sometime

if your back by May, or on leave. Going to drive to Overland Expo 2014 in Flagstaff, AZ. Thats quite a distance for me... Not for a Cali boy though

Really though, if you did a video, I could make my own or a couple and work something out with you while your deploy'd.

Having a couple people good with 'glass, is a huge deal where I'm from. Would be nice being able to come back to a running business! I have nothing but time on my side right now.

Think you got me and the OP confused my friend. I bought one of his overhead console's and did the dual rear view camera screen, but he makes the whole setup.

Oh yeah, I screwed up . Yep, thats what 2 days and an hour sleep do to yah. My perception was flawd and I was reading like I was drunk.

I still stand by my statements though. Just to OP.

Still would like to see what some other people have done for Rock Cams. I saw a couple FJ guys with Pannel monitors in theirs. 4.3"-5" with either Touchscreen for zoom or a manual zoom feature would be interesting and probably better than the full on military style mounting they did.

OP would you consider making a custom overhead console to fit a ScanGauge?

I would consider it if that is the only think you want to put in the console. I just have to find a scan gauge.

For me that would be the only thing that would go up there. I want a scan gauge but that would be the only place where I would really consider installing it and that is why I have not purchased one. I don't like things hanging on the windshield or on top of the dashboard and I don't think there really is any other good place close to line of sight anywhere else that would not obstruct something else on the dashboard. I also have the ImMrYo rearview mirror bracket so I don't think I have enough space above it to install the scan gauge.

Since the demand is so high on these there is what I am thinking. My plans are to only make one model. The angled version up front. Sorry to everyone that has a compass. It's twice has hard to build one that will retain the compass. I plan on making batches. 2 to 4 at a time. I am only taking exchanges. Toyota decided to increase there prices on new console and it would be to expensive to make up the difference. I will let everyone know when I will start making some. Thanks!

Yes because I can't give an estimated time. This is a side project for me. If you send me your console to build and something comes up. I won't be able to get to it for a few weeks. Now you are without your overhead console for that time. It creates un-needed stress. Sorry
