I have a 2010 crew cab tacoma 4x4 that I just bought about 2 mths ago. I love the truck but find it idles really fast. When putting it in gear it'll nearly give you whiplash. Is there anyway to slow the idle or do I need to have a mechanic check it out?

What is it idling at? If it is cold out it will start idling at 1100-1200rpm and slowly drop down to about 750-850 rpm (if I recall correctly). Maybe just let it idle for a minute or two before you put it in gear.
