Buying new wheels and tires and need help!

The tires on my 2005 SR5 4x4 white Tacoma need to be replaced and I need new wheels as well! What I need are tires that will handle some snow (I go to school in Pennsylvania) and still get fair gas mileage (it's a 500 mile drive one way).
I am also looking for the ideal wheel size to maximize gas mileage but that also looks great, and they have to be black(I was thinking 17"). The wheels I have right now are 20" chrome which are simply too big and, well, I'm sick of them. I need to get both the wheels and tires within the next week so any suggestions would be great, Thanks!!!

 

Not to be a Debbie Downer or anything but you posted this in the marketplace. I would copy it and start a thread in the discussion part. Also so that I can somewhat help out it all kinda depends on what you want to spend, my buddy who has 17's wishes he had 16's because the tires are cheaper. I have 16's w/ 265's and I still have plenty of room to go to 285's. I have hankook dynapro AT/M and they work great. But its all user preference.

 

Black Trail Team TT's with a 265/75/16 BFG AT's, running that on my taco right now in Vermont, and getting an average of around 18-19 in 4x2, and they rip in the snow in 4x4

 

Thanks for the input, maybe 16's are a better idea. Since I'm in college I am trying not to pay too much, maybe $150 per wheel. This being the case, would buying an oem TRD wheel and painting it be a viable option?
