    You might want to ask if their Solid spacers for the pinion in their, helps with strength.

    There are advantages and disadvantages to both methods. The solid spacer takes more effort to install, but many consider it more stout. The claim is that should the pinion flange take a very hard hit on a rock or other immovable object, it is possible that a crush sleeve could be impacted and crushed slightly more. When this happens it leaves some freeplay in the bearings, and the assembly loosens slightly.

    I am looking for ring and pinions and install kits, not so much the lockers although it would be nice. I seriously need to re-gear for the 35's but I'm on a budget. Right now it has stock gears and it struggles on windy days on the interstate.

    I got a price at a local shop for just gears front and rear with install kits and intallation it was $1700 for it all. Which I didn't think was to terrible. I don't do a lot of off roading so the factory LSD does me just fine but if I ever buy another tacoma it will be a TRD off road. Question: Would I be able to keep the factory LSD with a gear swap to 4.88?

    OP not trying to thread jack just wanted to ask.
