I've had this alternator sitting around that came off my 05 TRD OR w/ Tow Pkg. I had a squeal going on, and the stealership told me it was my alternator. Instead of paying them $750 to replace it, I bought a new one and did it myself. Well guess what, it wasn't the alternator, it was the idler pulley. Truck had about 40k miles on it at the time. $50 shipped.

I'm very interested if it will work in my 2001. Is it a straight bolt in or (somewhat) more complicated?:notsure:

    I'm afraid this made-for-the-4.0-v6 won't work on my 3.4.:(

My truck is making the same squeal and my battery voltage starts to decrease when I'm stopped at a red light. Dealership told me it was the alternator as well. I'm gonna take a look at the pulleys. If its the alternator i'll definitely take it

Wow, too bad it appears it won't fit my 2.7. Goes for $400 on Amazon, and $530 at a Toyota parts dealer.

It wasn't near that amount at autozone or where ever I bought the new alternator from. I think it was like $130, but it was a long time ago.

I no longer have the alternator though, it was sold last year. This is an old thread.
