Why does that thing have different gear ratios front and back? Sounds like this thing was cobbed together and destined to leave you stranded on a trail...

I've seen other rigs use 5.29s rear with 5.38s front, I don't think they had issues with them but I could be wrong.

Doesn't seem like a good idea, especially with welded carriers. Seems the rear is just going to try to drive through the front and if it does get positive traction, it's just asking for a failure. There's a lot of work done to it but I'm not sure I'd go anywhere near it for that kind of money.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
"Hi, I messed up this build and want someone to buy it for a lot of money. You'll shake your head in amazement admiring some of the outright silly stuff I did without researching any of the consequences or repercussions.

    Good luck with that.

Missed the manual locking hubs part. Still wouldn't touch it because if you lock up the hubs and are crawling through a tough area, you don't want to have to keep unlocking the hubs just so you don't destroy something. I know unbalanced gear ratios aren't unheard of, they just don't seem like a good idea.

    Just my :2cents: but...

It seems as if he did this swap the cheapest possible way, skimping everywhere you could.

    1. Dana44 in a second gen=endless broken shafts. D60 or dont bother. Good thing you are giving spare shafts to the buyer.

    2. Leaving the toyota rear axle in post swap=more broken shafts.

    3. Welded carriers=get a real locker or dont bother. Especially with mismatched gears in the axles.

    4. FOA shocks enough said.

    5. Not street legal.

Would make a good starting point for a rebuild though. But not for that price.
