Hmm, not sure how much you are wanting to spend but 4WP has them (Smittybilt brand) I thnk they are $50, but I had a 10% off coupon, bought it on sale and the order was 20% off for some kind of special event they had, I think I paid $38 for it out the door.

Anyone make these with hitch locking pin holes drilled on all sides?

So, you can put it in horizontally or vertically.

Thanks for the quick replies. Didn't think they were so inexpensive. Got a tractor supply down the road.

I haven't seen one, but a few minutes on a nice drill press or end mill and I'd feel okay drilling a hole in a quality hitch like the CURT one.

I got mine from Northern Steel I think,

It's solid with vertical and horizontal alignment, I used a pry bar to tighten the shackle bolt though, less likely to walk away I hope!

I leave it in ALL the time, especially after beeing tapped at a stop light twice in a month
and there isn't a mark on the truck, and the folks who bumped me all had marks on their
front bumpers from the shackle lol...

Columbus McKinnon and Crosby are really the only two companies worth buying shackles from.

Superior quality, made in America, industry standards.

I bought one there figuring a shackle was a shackle....so you're telling me it's hollow?

Luckily I haven't had to use it yet...let's hope I never have to...

For one that's not a shackle, two no, not all shackles are equal, and not all mounts are equal.

Purchase a solid mount and then a CM or Crosby 3/4" shackle.

Just wanted to add that I have to $10 one from Harbor Freight and it had held up through multiple recovery situations and has no sign on flaw or weakness. That is all lol

good to know!

I still probably won't put too much faith in it, but good to know that I don't necessarily have to crap my pants whenever I do need it...
