Why are 4x2's so much more than 4x4's?

He says in his original post that he has to use original Toyota not Dorman hub flanges which are more expensive. I would guess that is the why the price difference???

This is exactly why. I currently have to use the Toyota hub flange which is $100 more than the 4x4 Dorman hub flange., I also install a new dust cap at no extra charge.

I have been back and forth with Dorman with the OEM Prerunners hub flanges. They are currently working on a cheaper direct replacement part. Time will tell when they will be replaced.

if you have wheel bearing noise now, take care of it now. I have an order list I follow and don't always have stock of these assemblies.

Agreed! If being luckily enough 8 miles from home limping it at 35mph all the way home. One wheel bearing let loose without warning
Luckily I was a few miles from
    home :)

I can sell you the bearing and seal if you'd like to DIY or I can sell you the complete ready to bolt on assembly. Shoot me a PM

*you will need a press & bearing separator to get the hub out of the bearing. the hub seal surface may or may not be damaged which will result in a prematurely worn bearing. for the price & peace of mind you can't beat the complete assembly.
