All you need is a piece of angle with two holes drilled in it. All that mount needs is a flat metal surface to magnetically attach too.

    Chris,
You've got a good idea there! But that is such an easy piece to home-fab. Just get a small piece of med-gauge sheet metal from your local home store, cut with a jig saw...file edges smooth/to final shape...drill your holes...bend to desired angle in a vise...shoot it with paint...install.

Heck...I might even make up one of these for my Tech Deck for my HAM radio mic. Thanks for the idea!

You have saved me time and money and I don't have to buy that 20+ part I can reuse the stock hanger. I did not want to go the "home fabbed" route as i'm basically buying everything while I'm here in Afghanistan then on leave have one big build fest. Also wanted a professional look..... well as far as hanging MULTIPLE electronics off of your dash can be. I'll pick up a mount in the next few days THANKS

    ORDERED!!!

I went with the method that Grim and Geek went with that way I have room for growth on that panel

I also got a diamond ball to round mount to bolt an otter box outer cover of a tab 3 then just snap in the tab to the outer cover.

Glad to help  although I just stole the idea from MrGrimm :anonymous:

Thinking I might mount a steelie ball from Nite Ize on the other size for other electronics. Not sure how well the steelie ball would hold up on the trails.

It took mine a few days but I got mine Keep in mind that these guys do have lives outside of this and that this is a side project. Have you sent them a email to their customer service address? birddawg.industries@yahoo.com. The product are worth the wait. Just installed my Extreme Duty Tech Deck yesterday. You wont be disappointed. Hope you bought some RAM balls. Home Depot and Lowes carry a great assortment of hardware for them. Installing the Mirror riser today.

    Good Luck!

so I got my xtreme in it was sent to my billing address not my shipping address thanks PayPal but non the less it looks like a great mount I just cant touch it till I go home on Leave. :plane:

I see a lot of guys are looking for bolts to use. I ordered from Amazon:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005DSAQ0S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    and

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NBKLM8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The 18mm will go through a standard Ram Mount and the Tech Deck. If you want to do a Ball, Tech, Ball I would probability go for the 20mm or 22mm.

I did not really care for the angle under the bolt so I may bevel/countersink the ball mount to sit flush then sharpie the top of the bolt just to take some of the shine out. but none the less great product. please make something else so you can take my money.

Haven't installed it yet but I think im gonna cut a small rectangular hole to allow for cords to pass through so they arent dangling in front of the tech deck. Other than that it looks solid.

yes, I have done the mods
so guys - with the Tech Deck installed, can you still pop the A/C controls out? Or does the Tech Deck get in the way of that panel coming out? Trying to figure out if it's a semi-permanent installation for those of us that seem to be digging around in the dash installing stuff all the time. I can't imagine you'd want to be pulling those screws in and out repeatedly.

The A/C panel will NOT come out with the Tech Deck installed. If you don't plan to be back there more than a few times...it shouldn't be a problem. The removal of the Deck is quick and easy. But I understand what you're saying...You don't want the screw holes getting any slop/play in them. If you're careful...it should be no problem...and if you did get one wallowed out a bit...you could always fill it with plastic filler and re-drill.

Okay, thanks for the info. Here's another one - how thick is the plastic that we're drilling into on either side to install the (regular-duty) Tech Deck?
