So I noticed in your first design there was no extra slats in the side pieces for an awning. Is there slots now???

Yes. All the new ones come with the extra slots to bolt up awnings to them. As recommended by Jim above, I am working on the timeline of the racks and the changes, or new features as well as accessories.

^^^^ That turned out sweet! I will look for pics showing the rear hole to fit the crossbar behind the antenna.

Not yet. It is in the works though. Like the access cab it will require drilling and the installation of rivetnuts in the roof.

I am planning on selling them. I never was able to get pictures of the one installed before I shipped it due to rain or the owner of the vehicle not being around so as far as pics go it wont be till the one gets installed by the owner. After that I will be working on pricing and production of them in bigger numbers.

Quick question - Do you have any solutions for somebody wanting to run Yakima accessories on your racks?

More specifically, a Yakima Fatcat snowboard rack. It seems like they only will work on curved bars. Any ideas for me? Thanks

Okay guys, help me out here. I'm generally good at puzzles, but I feel like I'm overlooking something obvious. I'm following advice from this thread of:
    1. painting the fasteners,
    2. painting the rails,
    3.priming the crossbars,
    4. assembling everything
    5. giving everything another coat
    6. putting them on the truck and the cap.

But when I started to align the cap rack for Step 4, I discovered this:

My best guess now is the shop cut two passenger side racks, not realizing that because the rack was for a long bed cap and the feet were not equidistant from each end, and therefore the driver's side and passenger's side should mirror each other but would not be identical.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
    Thanks for the answers!
And yeah, I meant Frontrunner, not Defender. Very similar look, but not a copy.
Will be placing an order in the future for sure, just have to allocate funds.

Thanks for the response. Depending on the final product, this seems like a nice alternative to the whitson racks that are so popular for runners. I will be patiently waiting and saving.

The width between the rails is 47". 40" fits well IMHO, buy you could probably fit up to a 44" or 45" if they make something like that. A few people have asked for a custom option allowing for a 51-52" light bar that turned out pretty nice. There should be a picture in the OP.

I had mine made to fit the cheap Amazon 52 inch 300w light bar.

I've got future plans to tuck a 40' one under the forward most bar then build a clear wind fairing for the front. :D
