This is a copy of my post in my vendor thread. I figured I would post it here as well, in the appropriate category.

Well it took me a while to get everything sorted out, and to be sure that the system will work as designed, but now we have it! The 2nd Gen Tacoma Electrical System Stage Kit has started!

As of right now, we only have the Stage 1 Kits available, as I am still getting the alternator supplier locked into what I need. Today's 2nd gen Tacoma trucks with the off-road package already have a 130A alternator, which will perform just fine with the average demands of our Tacoma line. We will however be offering both a 200A and a 250A alternator for those who are running extreme loads from winches and high-power stereo systems who are looking for a FACTORY look under the hood, while still having the performance level of the super alternators.

So here is what the Stage 1 Kit comes with:

    • High quality battery terminals with built-in voltage gauge for "at-a-glance" reading of your battery status.
    • Heavy-duty 2 gauge primary cables for starter and vehicle grounds using welding cable with over 2000 strands of copper.
    • Heavy-duty 4 gauge alternator cable, and vehicle power cable made of the same welding cable style, with over 1000 strands of copper.
    • Heavy-duty 4 gauge power point draw with 130A fuse
    • Performance Stereo 8 gauge wire for body ground
    • Instructions on installation
The upcoming Stage 2 Kit will come with everything found in the Stage 1 Kit, with the addition of either a 130A alternator for those vehicles not having the Off-road package from the factory, or the 200A or 250A alternators for those wishing for extreme power output!

Just like the 1st gen Kits, each 2nd gen Kit is custom made to order, so please factor in up to 2 weeks to build your individual kit, and have them shipped to you. Starting price for the Stage 1 Basic Kit will be $120 plus $11 shipping. This includes shipping to anywhere in the 50 US states, including of course Hawaii and Alaska! Shipping is available to Canada, but you will need to contact me on shipping rates. Custom Kits are available on request, and pricing will vary depending on requirements.

Post any questions here, or in my vendor thread under this same subject. Thanks for your time!

since there is two threads on this, ill post this on here also..

    Here is what I have.

    3 - 100 Watt Hellas @ 12V = 25 amps
    4 - 25 Watt Hellas @ 12 V = 10 amps
    2 - Additional charging ports @ 10 amps each = 20 amps
LED bed light kit and Hood light kit, say.. = 5 amps

---60 amp peak of after market goodies

    I have a standard 90 amp alternator.

Does anyone have an idea what the standard idle amp draw is on these trucks?

Say they're idling with the factory radio on at full blast?

I have been thinking about upgrading alternator, and this showed up [IMG]

    any suggestion?

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more
It would appear that I am not quite ready financially to go ahead and do this, but I will be in the near future. Stage 4 kit, 2 optima yellows, dual battery tray, and an alternator is looking to be about $800. Hell of alot to upgrade the charging system, but worth it.

Too much to list, but enough to get me in trouble. Repeatedly.
Well, I recently got done with my dual-battery setup and wiring upgrade (went with 00 for everything...left the starter cable stock). So I wouldn't need any of the kit components.
However, the alternators intrigue me, as I definitely have a drop when I light up my pair of 130W front lights. Are you offering the alternators separately? And if so, how much? (I have the factory 130, so I'm asking about the Big Boys).
And is there any kind of package discount if we order bearings and alternators? :)

Texoma, no worries man. I will be here when you need it. Running dual batteries and all the cabling and the alternator do get pricy.

Mach375, the 200A alternators are $265, with $11 shipping. However you MUST be using 4 gauge alternator cable for this alternator. This is why I am very specific about what you have in the truck already.

Sorry for the long delay in a reply Mach.

I guess I should have explained better, you must have 4 gauge or smaller. (i.e. 2 or 00 gauge will also work)
