For people that use their truck as a truck and want something even stronger than the flimsy plastic skin on the tailgate but still retain a fairly stock look, here is your solution, the Mobtown Offroad Tailgate Reinforcement Plate.

The plate is made from 14 gauge steel, then powder coated in textured black. This skin has reinforcement ribs for added strength across the tailgate. You simply unbolt the OEM plastic skin and tailgate cap, slide this in place under the tailgate cap and bolt back down using the factory hardware. The skin does fit under the factory plastic skin if you want to continue to use that but get added strength. (Minor trimming required on plastic skin)

You also have the option to replace the cheap plastic clips in the tailgate with steel inserts and hardware., minor drilling required.

I considered including and probably still will, but with the embossed ribs you probably won't need them. Still, I'll include them for if you want even more strength.

Are the ribs bead rolled? How would this support the additional weight of a quad sitting partially on the tail gate? I noticed on mine that the tabs that were glued on to the outer skin behind the plastic piece failed and are bent. Are these the know welds to fail or am I missing the bigger picture on the failure point of our tail gates?

It is sort of a bead roll, similar in design. The rib will for sure help with the weight of a quad sitting on the tailgate. Where your tailgate failed is the none issue with the tailgates on our truck. I just got the powder coated part in today and will take pictures tonight. Should have them on the forum and website by tomorrow/Wednesday.

I can ship to Canada through Fedex but I have to contact them and make sure I get it right. It requires a lot of forms to do so. Maybe we can get a group buy and it'll save everyone a lot of time and money.
