I took my first road trip with the tacoma this past week. No issues until I was on my way home when I developed an intermitant noise in the front end. The best way to describe it was it sounded like some one was playing a kazoo on my front end. It was more noise than vibration. Road conditions were sunny, dry pavement and a fairly strong head wind coming accross the front end at about a 45 degree angle. Vehicle load was 2 adalts, 2 kids and 2 dogs. In the bed was 2 suit cases and a cooler. Vehicle speed was between 75 and 85 mph. Below 75 it went away. It also seemed to appear when the truck hit a bump in the road. Anything below 75 mph the noise never happened. At one of the rest stop we were at I removed the front licnse plate as I thought it could be this but the intermitant noise still persisted. 65 mph is not an option on the NY thruway or the Ohio turn pike. Way too boring.

You can do it yourself or have a windshield repair facility replace the seal around your glass. TSB on this issue is attached.

My 09 does the same thing. I haven't taken it in to see how much grief they'll give me about applying an 07 tsb to my 09.

I got my window resealed, and it still makes the noise when there is a crosswind on the highway. Suggestions? Have the dealership re reseal it? *Frustrated*

Had this same issue about a week ago. Strong crosswind, and the noise was rally loud whenever a gust blew by. but I have a 2010 taco... could it really be the same issue, I would think they would have fixed it by now if it was a recall in 07 for the 05 model year. maybe not though since the TSB describes my trucks issue exactly how it happens.

I guess it's not too bad if it isn't something more serious though

My 2010 has the same noise when there is a crosswind. Had to listen to it driving from San Antonio to Houston and it about drove me nuts. Working on getting my list together (I have a lot of problems: fan blower motor noise, wind coming in through the door seal, radio randomly shuts off, and this noise). Next Friday off I may try to take it to the dealer.

Experienced it once in strong crosswind...didn't know about the TSB...might look into doing it myself if I experience it again.

Let me know if you take it in and it gets some attention, and where you took it. I have the same problem, but just haven't taken it in yet.

Look at the end of the seat belt, there is a white tag attach to seat belt, some how the air flow in to that area and that white tag keep hit the wall, I hope that is the the problem your guy have. remove the tag

I had the same problem with my 2010. Kind of a howling sound from center of windshield area. Like everyone says, you hear it more when in a crosswind at 70+ mph. I made a copy of TSB and gave it to dealer. They worked on it and I haven't heard it since. I sure hope its fixed because it can be real annoying!:goingcrazy:
