Rust proof 2010 tacoma?

Dealer saying they are already rust proofed from the factory. Is this new? Would you treat anyway? With what?

Located in North Shore of MA if anyone has suggestions.

Thx.

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

All vehicles have some sort of Rust Proofing from the factory. How good it is, remains to be seen.

I think rust resistant would be more appropriate, some are more resitant to rust than others but no car is rust proof.

Yes, Chris4x4 is correct (as usual). Your truck comes with rust protectant commonly referred to as "paint."

There are lots of aftermarket products and barnyard methods (e.g., coating the frame with used motor oil) hawked as effective. Some work. Some don't. Some actually trap more dirt and moisture, which is a bad thing. Be careful. Don't spend money on snake oil.

Many of the Canadians on this forum use a product called POR15, which is painted onto the frame. I repaint my frame and suspension/drivetrain components every other year with Rustoleum primer and paint. That seems to work well.
