I have an white 06 TRD sport that came with a billit grill from the previous owner, and it is the kind with the painted black on the flat edges between. I want to paint all the pieces with the 3M rubber coating, but am curious if I need to sand the whole grill for the paint to stick proper...getting in between would be a pain. Any one have any suggestions for me? Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

I had an all metal billet grill that came in silver and I didnt sand it and just sprayed it with 3M rubberized undercoating at it came out great. Just spray it without sanding it. You should be fine.;)

My billet style grill had the same thing. I scuffed it lightly with a scotch bright pad and the paint stuck fine. I only scuffed the front and used some black paint that I had.

Alright, I got the 3M rubber undercoating stuff...that's the right ish, right? I had to look all around town for the 3m stuff. This stuff will stick to the billit, right? I read some threads on here, and some people said it didn't adhere correctly...kinda iffy on spraying mine now as I don't want it to look like shit.
