265/75 16 very close to spindle.

I have about 1/4 inch gap between my tire and my spindle. Is this normal? I haven't noticed any rubbing as of yet, but have not had these tires long either.

I am on stock 16 inch gulf states wheels running 265/75 16 tires.

Should I order spacers or is that enough of a gap?

 

I'm running same size and rim with no spacer. Never rubbed either

 

you've got nothing to worry about, the spindle and tire move in unison so if you ever experience rubbing it indicates the hub bearing is worn out.( thats with same size tires of course)

 

What he said^^ When you hit a bump your wheel/tire go straight up and your LCA, Spindle, UCA and shock/coil move straight up. So nothing gets touched.

A bad Camber alignment or busted hub is the only way for you to have rubbing against your spindle.

I had 285 tires on my truck before the wheel spacers and the gap was so small between the "peak" on the side of the spindle and the inside sidewall of the tire, I couldn't put my small finger in between it.

2010 Dbl Cab Prerunner SR5

Just put some cooper discovery stt's on yesterday. I want to keep the factory wheels mainly because I don't want to deal with balance issues like I have had to do in the past on other vehicles.

Planning on doing a lift soon, but wouldn't that push the spindle out even closer to the tire, or am I off on that.
