Whats the difference??

Hey guys im looking to buy an intake for my truck..i know some ppl say to save your money but i like the sound that they make and figured i would get one..can someone tell me what im missing here between these 2 intakes and which one im better off with? thanks!

K&N makes 1 intake for the Tacoma with 2 options. Metal or plastic pipe. Metal version is louder supposedly

That's a pretty penny for an intake...hello paycheck....goodbye paycheck haha

 

Closed element versus open element.

Piping size is different in some of them. One of them is actually to small and requires a maf cal to run right. (Volant)

The closed element helps in ridding of heat soak (sucking in the hot air in the engine bay) as to where an open element sucks in all the hot air and puts it into the engine.... the purpose of an intake is to suck in cold air. (Reason on why it's called a Cold Air Intake) The colder the air the more efficient it will run. Hotter causes heat soak which leads to lag and loss of hp..... Hope that helps.
