I have some buddies with Titans and I think they are aight. The fuel mileage is just horrible. I have yet to wheel with them though their trucks are 4wd street queens that occasionally see dirt/dusty roads.

Yeah man, our Tacomas only have these issues:
    - Engine ticking noise
    - Brake Problems
    - Tailgate locking problem (backup cam ruins it)
    - Front drive shaft literally breaks issue

    Ha!! In your face looza!!!

and btw, gas mileage is not nearly as bad as you guys say. Most guys on titantalk are averaging about 16 combined with a few mods. It's funny that you guys complain about titan mpg's when the 4.0 Taco, for what little power it has comparatively speaking, has terrible mpg.

no, 18-20 is not bad at all. Neither is 16 when getting about 330 HP after mods ;)

Wow, i had no idea i was in the presence of intellectual royalty here. My college is EIGHT hours away from home. If i still had my taco, my parents would have to drive to come get me to help bring all my stuff back home. With my titan i can get it all and then some. But good reasoning skills ;);)

Word of the wise, if you do college right, that 8 hour drive will be an excuse to stay in TTown and have more fun.

When I moved to college (had to move a ton of shit to fill a whole house) I had a full sized chevy at the time, and had to still rent trailers. I understand where your coming from in needing a bigger truck. Don't get all fussy bud, I was just poking fun.

i had a 2005, 2wd, king cab titan before i got the tacoma.

the titan was very fast and very powerful, but it sucked on gas mileage (i consistantly got 12mpg) and the insurance was more expensive than the 4x4 tacoma (go figure ). also, the titan was a pain in the ass to park; especially in los angeles.

i am much happier with my tacoma :)

Congrats to the OP, going from a 5-lugger to a titan is definitely a big change.
