Quick Slider Question

I have a set of Avid sliders sitting on my front porch now, and am getting them welded on this weekend. I am going to use spray on bed liner to finish them and my question is can I do that before they are welded on, or do i have to wait and tape off half of my truck?

 

I would do 80% of the slider now before you get it welded. Just leave a decent size area where the sliders get welded at. That way it will be a lot easier to paint after they get welded up. That's what I did and it worked great.

Yes. Paint/line them before you weld them up. But before you do tape off 4-6" of the legs where they will be welded so the paint/liner does not burn during welding.

I would say 100-150. I got a buddy off another one of my forums to do it for free . Just a word of advice make sure the person that is welding them up knows WTF they are doing. If you search around there are a few horror stories of them getting welded on upside down, or not sufficient enough. You are getting them welded on a very important piece of the truck so I would not skimp on the installation cost, and if a buddy will do them for "a case of beer" or for free just make sure you see some previous welds and know he is competent.

Are the brackets that are welded from the frame to the sliders welded on at an angle? or are they straight across? Im trying to look at as many picture as i can, but its hard to tell. thanks for the help
