If it wasn't my third Tacoma, I wouldn't be so concerned... But, my '01 and '05 were super comfortable. We just returned from a 4 day trip and I began to really feel the cross bar (?) in the lower part of the seat back, against my lower back. Since my '10 and '05 are the same model, what have they done different to the front seats? This one is made in Mexico, if that indicates a change in the seat make. The truck has 13,000 miles on it, and is 7 months old.

Has anyone else felt this cross bar in their seatback? Has anyone asked about a TSB or warantee replacement?

    Thanks!

I'm 6'1" 210 .... although I have only had this Tacoma (2010) for a few weeks I think the buckets are comfortable.

I have a regular cab 2006 with a bench and also was comfortable in it.

Don't feel the crossbar myself. Have you tried playing with the lumbar adjustment wheel?

The seats now have air bags in them, as well as the headrest was redesigned. Honestly I think the 05-08 were more comfortable... but I haven't felt any crossbars or anything in mine yet.

I took my 2010 back within the first month to have the seat worked on. Seems they messed up the placement of the airbag and other parts. The seat was popping and making weird sounds when I would move around plus it was noticably not as comfortable from the seat in my 08. They claimed that a spring was hitting the airbag or something. I guess its a little more comfortable and the popping is gone now though.

I would get it looked at...

in 2009 and 2010 they added side curtain airbags located inside the seats. You can see the little tag along the outside edge of the seatback

Well, I have barely driven in Baja with the 2010, compared to my previous two Tacomas... But, I am adding the miles as much as possible!

The side curtain airbags come from the headliner.

The side impact airbags (that protect your torso) come from the seat.

Also there is the lumbar bag... That would also be uncomfortable if in the wrong place.

I've got a 2010 and I'm 6'1 200lbs and my seats feel good, better than other vehicles I have had. Sounds like you need to take it to Toyota, may have a defective seat.
