If you thin Taco's are bad go to "fjcruiserforums.com" and check out the windshield threads.

I've had 3 repaired already, and now I have to get another one from a few days ago :(

My windshield repair man gives me the frequent customer discount.

I bet they are since they are much more upright. Like Jeep Wranglers...I think it's more rare to see one without chips/cracks than one with.

My Friend has an FJCruiser. We went off roading and as soon as we were done and hit the highway ......CRACK! He caught a rock from the tires of the truck in front of him. It not only chipped the windshield but immediately cracked it beyond repair. The rock landed on the hood of his FJ and simply sat there for the next thirty miles of highway travel. When we stopped, he grabbed the rock and has kept it as a reminder.
Those FJ windshields are super expensive to replace. They have a metal strip that is part of the windshield that needs to be painted to match the body color. I don't know if it was because his is a Trail Teams edition, but his replacement windshield cost $1800.00!

Anyone know how much replacement windshields cost for the 2nd gen Tacomas? My new 2007 Tacoma has a pretty chipped windshield and I am thinking of replacing it.

$205 from Safelite Auto Glass. I've used them twice before...they'll do it right in the parking lot where you work or at your house.

I can't believe FJ windshields are that expensive!

Not in my Tacoma yet but my old Ranger never saw a rock it didn't like. I had one replaced and the new one got cracked while the tape was still on the new. Less than 24 hours.

The price for FJ windshields is coming down because there is now an aftermarket manufacturer for the windshields and more people are getting experience replacing them. IF you know what you are doing you don 't have to replace the metal cowl piece, you can reuse it.

My FJ cruiser windshield looked like the surface of the moon it had so many craters. And it felt like sandpaper.
