Add a leaf to an 05 TRD Sport???

I bought my truck from an individual and they didn't get the TSB Leaf Spring thing fixed. Since I'm not the original owner, bought it from a private seller, and the warranty is up (5 years old and 40k) is there anything Toyota will do about it? Has anyone encountered this?

 

I had this same issue with my 2005 Tacoma, I argued with Toyota many many times, the most they offered me was to pay 1/2 the cost of parts/labor

Airbags.
Simple, 2hr install and adjustable for lift and spring rate.

 

So you ended up going with airbags? What brand? How much? Would you recommend these over normal springs?

I got this from an online dealer, can't remember which one, for a little over $200.
I like the fact that it's no-drill.
You will need to hose out the inside of the frame rails to get gravel and accumulated mud before you mount the brackets.
I ran the air lines back to the fitting that holds the trailer electrical connection and drilled the air fittings into the area above where the trailer plugs in.
Total install, incl removing and re-installing tires was about 2 1/2 hrs. I did use a floor jack and jack stands, as you need to moderate the travel of the axle to get the airbag in.
I dropped the truck onto jackstand then jacked the axle to the height I needed to install it.
Not delicate but I didn't damage anything.
A lift and impact wrench would have cut 45 min off install time.
I did it all with hand tools.
Glad I had a 1/2'' wrench set...you really need to yarf on the hardware...don't think 3/8'' set would have done it.
I like not riding on the bumpstops anymore. you can adjust the ride height and spring rate.
At 30psi, I got about 1 5/8'' lift....too much for me. I settled on about 20psi and it rides firmer but not bad.
I like the option of adjustability over an AAL.
I may take some pics, but too lazy and it was getting dark when I finished.
