just play that dealership back. next time they call tell them you are talking to a different dealer who is willing to work with you and not bs around. you dont have to give them a salesmans name, just a dealer name. dont tell them $ talks, just tell them its in your favor. They will call you everyday. I am willing to be you will get that truck for 26, and get the steps you want, while you are at it tell em you want a TRD exhaust just for good measure.
    Good luck

Lol how do you think that?? It appears that 26,000 is not even reasonable... and with steps is unheard of!

Do you really like those steps...the truck you test drove had them? At first I wanted them but when I tested another truck that had them I changed my mind because to me they felt awkward. Kept bumping my shins while climbing in.

If you can get that truck for $26k, my hats off to you. Last I remember the Edmunds TMV for mine was around $28k I think and that was around the end of May/early June when I checked.

Lol I hear you on that man. I've got the same situation but I'm gonna go with aftermarket ones as I believe there are better ones out there for me.

4x2 or 4x4? Either way 26K would have been a great price. Last summer I got my '09 TRD Sport LB w/JBL audio for 26,569 out the door except I had to pay sales tax when I got my tag because I bought it out of state. I felt like I got a pretty good deal. The sticker price was 29,559. The only thing I didn't like was it had the ToyoGuard Plus protection package (total rip off). It was a $699 option that the truck already had and I couldn't do anything about it. Watch out for the guys in the finance office. They will rip you off for another 1 or 2K of your not very careful. Gap protection, extended warranty, they are all rip off, just a way to add to their bottom line. Good Luck!

P.S. Thanks again for all you help with the WeatherTech group buy!

Forget the steps from the dealer and get some decent quality sliders later on that will provide better protection and value for your money. Good luck with the purchase (I LOVE my Tacoma).

Sounds like you have done your research! Stick to your price!
When they come back at you with blah blah, Stick to your price!
It will sound like a mantra after awhile, but stick to your price, they are always hoping you will cave and win the emotional gotta have now battle.
Good Luck and get the truck you want :)

Just because he said $26,000 doesn't mean he was going to sell it to you for that price. Those assholes will say anything to keep the negotiation going. He was trying to get you back in the door to beat on you for a little longer. Go through a broker or a fleet dealer. It's much easier to deal with them. And, as was said before, get pre approved before you go.

dealer did that when i bought my subaru. He wouldn't toss in a garage door opener (homelink) for free and i knew i could get one for 150- so his price was probably less and it's a simple hook up. Anyways i ended up walking off but when he called me a couple days later and told me he'd toss it in i was very happy to get the satisfaction of telling him i bought one somewhere else. I worked out for me, the subaru i got was better and about 2grand less.

Anyways you'll find one around, i find it hard to believe anyone will do 26 though, unless its a prerunner. Good luck with your search

North Charlotte, you mean the one on Speedway Boulevard? I have been there for service a couple times and they are useless. If you want to deal with good people to Town and Country or Scott Clarks. I'm sorry you had to deal with them.
