Test Driving 07......55k TRD Off Road DC

I sold my last Tacoma SR5 about 5 years ago and am now looking to get into a 2nd gen.
I test drove an 07 6cyl, auto, TRD 4x4 Off Road DC in fact the dealership gave me the truck for the weekend. I am very impressed with the truck's overall tight feel and performance. It is in excellent condition and was obviously well cared for and is nicely optioned. The 55k seems to have not hurt this truck at all.
Questions:
Are there any known problems with the 07's?
Any major maintenance items that should have been completed or that will soon need to be completed on this truck?
How are these 2nd gen trucks holding up compared the previous gen trucks?
What is typical fuel mileage for 50/50 driving.

I got 36k on mine with no issues yet! Just rountine mant. I get around 400 miles on a tank.

 

x2, 36k on mine and similar gas mileage. If it's coming from a dealership, not a bad idea to negotiate a full fluid swap (front end, rear end, transmission, x-fer case).

 

How much are they asking?!?!

seems like a nice deal....i paid 20 for a 06 acess cab with 46000 miles certified.....i love it!!!!

07's are one of the best years to get for not having shit break or recalled.

 

Nice with the 07 but I think you can go $20,500 or 21 OTD with that high mileage. . .

I got my brand new 07 TRD DC Off-Road for $26k OTD after CA tax & Title & Blah. . .

You should be able to do better.

If not, I'm pretty happy with the resale value of these then.

I am with you on the pricing.....problem is there are very few of these for sale in this somewhat rural area of PA and they seem to command a big price. I would absolutely go for 26k new OTD if I could find it.
Another question then is what kind of price do these trucks bring in vg shape when they reach 100k?

I picked up my 2010 DC Sport with 2700 miles, tonneau cover, and factory side steps for $26,400 at a GMC dealership in Bloomsburg!

How do you know what the truck is the op is looking at?

At any rate, if it is a 4x4 22k is pretty decent for an off-road... I'd still try to get 21-21.5 at least though.

I dont want to bust balls here, but I paid 25600 for my 07 brand new.

 

No balls are busted.... 25600 is a great price for a new TRD. I agree that 20 or below would be a fair price but the 55k miles still bugs me. That is 55k that I won't get.

I am trading a vehicle so the price from one dealer to the next varies greatly!

 

108,000 miles on my 2007 and so far so good. tires, oil, plugs and brakes is all I have done.
