Actually the OP said he is too good of a driver to have to wear seatbelts, but whatever, it's his life.

He must be something because he sure didn't have his seatbelt on .
But seriously guys, no one ever said that they were doing this to get out of wearing their seatbelt while driving. Give it a rest already.

Wow, you're a lot dumber than I gave you credit for. I'm certainly not going to tell you to wear your seatbelt, I'm not your mother, that's your own choice, but you're an idiot if you honestly think all accidents are avoidable... That's why they're called accidents, shit happens and sometimes there's simply nothing you can do about it.

You can minimize the risk with good driving training.. Do I wear me seatbelt 100 percent of the time? NO but on long drives, bad considtions I do. Going to corner store..No I don't I am constantly aware of my surroundings when I drive. Always anticipating worse case scenarios like a good driver should. So BITE ME My drivers skill has gotten me out of alot of potential pitfalls others would fall into. I'm just really really really happy to have found the information to get rid of that annoying BEEP BEEP BEEP..Took forever for it to finally shut up..Kind of like the seatbelt police here..lol

wow this turned into a shit fest. I buckle my belt due to habbit. i dont need a beep to remind me to do it. secondly, if you go wheeling there are times its nice to not have the belt on so you can hang out the window to see. just because somebody wants to turn the beep off (regardless of his reason) let him. i have 100 reasons. The beep is disabled and any passenger ive had doesnt "forget" to buckle up.

Thats the next stupid lawsuit. "i got hurt really bad in the accident, im suing GM because they didnt beep when i got into the car so i forgot to buckle up"

Still, On the road i wear my belt 100% of the time. Most fatal accidents happen within 30min. from home. I dont agree with people who dont buckle up. Its not just your life you save. People with no belts becom a projectile in head on accidents and people have died from being struck. Anther way non bucklers affect other people is if you dont die and get stuck in a hospital my tax dollars take care of your vegtable ass.

What a sad thread. You guys needs to let it go instead of getting into a battle of the minds online. Pathetic. Like I said before, he asked how to turn it off. Not what you guys thought about him wearing a seat belt or using taxpayers money to clean up his hamburger meat off the street if he crashed.

    Grow up people.

way to use defensive driving technique as a reference for the chaos theory..Wow I'm sure you would get top marks for this complete abstract comparison. I think the theory of a lil bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing compares to your rationale. lmao doubt the seatbelt will save you Let it Beep on my friend..hahahaha

sorry dude but it speculation that the seatbelt would have saved her. second, people need to take personal responsibility. being so intoxicated you needed some to carry you to a car and you couldnt buckle you own belt is irresponsible.

I am truley sorry for your loss. we are all human and make mistakes.

People who choose not to use the seat belt are responsible for their decisions. I dont care how defensive you are... shit happens.

I also think its pretty piss poor to say to someone that you hope something happens to them for not wearing their belt...especially being someone who lost a loved one who didnt buckle up...

Discussing safety isn't pathetic. It's interesting to see just how many different oppinions there are about this topic. And not only that - but how adamant they are about those oppinions. Just think about the people driving around you every day while you drive to work.....and what they think of safety on the roadways. What does it mean to them versus what it means to you. That's what's scary (and pathetic).

........wear my seatbelt all the time except....idling along a dirt road way out in the desert scouting for mule/javelina hunt locations. Top speed maybe 5 mph. No traffic, no cliffs, no nothing!
Disabled seatbelt chime was my first mod. No need to have that irritating chime sound continuously.
If you choose to not wear a seatbelt in everyday driving/commuting situations well then you'll get hurt in a collision.

Good example: golf carts are not equipped with seatbelts for obvious reasons ie; low speed, getting in and out, etc. Same thing I do with the above scouting scenario.

Give this a rest and use common sense....nuff said
