I have been looking at step bars for my truck for a while and I think I've decided on the N-Fabs. Now I'm trying to decide if I want to color match them to my truck, Silver 08 double cab, or just buy them as is in glossy black. It cost about $90 dollars more to for another color other than black. Do any of you guys have any good pictures of your silver double cab Tacoma with N-Fab steps? I've looked on the web and haven't found quite what I"m looking for in order to make up my mind.

I was thinking black because I may smoke the headlights and go with the black grillcraft grill. I haven't decided if I want to go black / silver or chrome / silver with the truck so I've been trying to find pictures of both here on the forums. This is my first new truck and I finally have something nice that I can work with. This is also the first mod I am doing to the truck so I trying to think ahead and make sure I don't want to change it later. All input is appreciated.

Smoke headlights, improved LED tail lights...Pending: De-chrome badges and grille, new tires
Personally, I hate chrome/silver. Black looks so much better. I have the Radiant Red and am slowly converting all the chrome to black.

I perfer the black / silver too. After seeing a picture of the black n-fabs on a silver truck I'm pretty happy. Now I just need to find a good price. The best I've found so far is about $430 shipped for the black high gloss. The flat black is $90 more, ouch.

Update: I just ordered my steps from performance products for $420 to my door. This is for the black 3in steps. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them here and installed.

a lot of people say 3" only looks good if you have big tires and a lift. I don't have that yet but I'm saving up anyway for the 3" white powdercoat and just get the wheels and lift later.

I think I read that these don't mount to the frame. Is there a way to get them so that you can mount them to the frame? I'm not too thrilled about mounting them to the body.

I'm not sure if it's possible to mount them to the frame but their website states that "Most N-Fab Nerf-Steps have a 445lb weight rating, which is the highest in the industry." I'm not sure if this applies to the Tacoma or not. I hope so because I've already ordered them. Everybody I've talked to that has them loves them, and I've heard alot of good things about n-fab backing up their products. If you find out if it's possible to mount them to the frame I'd like to know.

If you decide you don't like them maybe we can work our a trade for my Black Westons? My Westons have under 1K miles on them I just really liek the look of the N fabs and didn't know about them when i ordered my westons.

No problem with the way they mount to the body.

    Very solid.

It would really suck if that cab seem bends from the pipe. I wonder why they desided to go with a cab mount rather than a frame mount.
