Well i got home from work yesterday to find that toyota had sent me a recall notice for the floor mats, gas pedal deal. Figured i'd drive down to toyota and see what they say abuot whether or not i'd need it. Well turns out that toyota is going to start sending out these notices and doing the work to all of their vehicles. The service guy said that it was more of a cya thing. So basically they are trimming the gas pedal and removing a portion of the matting underneath the carpet on the drivers side. And i believe that I get new floor mats out of it. So i said what the heck might as well do it. so now im sitting at toyota waiting and wondering if anyone else has had this work done or plans on getting it done?

I don't plan on getting mine done... I've got weathertech floor liners, so there's no chance my pedal gets stuck....

I got the weather techs as well, i would take the mats if I didn't have to have the whacking done on my pedal and carpet but I don't think they will give me the mats without doing that extra work. I have heard the mats are really thin, mine were supposed to be the all weather mats. I don't know if there are of better quality or not

In that letter Toyota said They are going install override system for free. Where do they install? Is that Software or Hardware?

Took mine in today to get transmission tsb done. Left specific instructions not to do any recall work. Ain't broke don't fix it.

Nope, I won't let them get it done to mine either. I'm not going to let them butcher and neuter the truck because a select few idiots can't drive properly.

I actually schedule my work to be done this Wednesday but now I'm starting to second guess it. I'm curious if the computer flash would help my tranny lag as well. I tried to get the tranny flash done but they said no (don't know why) but to me it sometimes feels like it takes way too long to shift right. So would the computer flash help u think or is that a whole separate program.

I didn't have a choice. When I picked up my new Tacoma last week...the pedal was already cut. God only knows what else they did?

Yeah I understand that the tsb included the 2010. I actually took my truck in two weeks after I bought it with the print out for the tsb and the service manager said it worked fine and refused to do it. To me I notice a lag sometimes it feels like I'm driving in nutrel for a few seconds. But that tsb said it only valid within certain vin number range and mine was not in the range. So who knows.

Hell I have the original floor mats from Toyota plus I bought gray rubber mats from Wally World and put them on top of the carpet mats. I have no problem driving my Taco or having a a sticking gas pedal:rolleyes:
