Unless it's a TRD which is built on the 4x4 frame/susp/etc.
Then you have a better chance of breaking shit on a 4x4 because you have way more moving parts and stuff to tear up.

4x elistest in the thread much?
Love those guys.. nevermind the common affinity for our trucks and having fun with them. The OP just stoked to share his adventures getting his truck dirty and not getting stuck. It's because hes driving a lowly non 4wd in the dirt I guess. We should know our place apparently.

another 4x elitest here.....(gimme a break). anyway ive been mudding with a lot of 4x2s. some do good some dont. point is that you are in fact putting your truck through alot of undue stress by ramming through the mud. the same as me in my 4x4.
the sad fact is mudding will put ANY vehicle through stresses that it isn't made for(trd doesn't mean mud truck)......

i've found an easy way of washing down after a muddy trip is to put one of those oscillating lawn sprinklers(the ones that shoot a fan of water up and move back and forth) under the truck for about 30 min. also helps to move it around a little during that time.

you sir are brilliant. ive spent a total of 6hrs, 3 yesterday 3 today washing and getting all the mud off of my truck. but i got every speck of mud out of every nook and crevice. i spent HOURS gettin it all out of the frame alone. and i did an engine wash. that sprinkler under the truck would have saved me hours of work.

deffinatly thinking about avoiding it from now on. just wayy to big of a hassle to clean after. there is mud tracked all the way from my house to my work half a mine down the road. where ever i parked there would be a perfect outline of my truck with mud on the ground

I love muddin more than anything. Getting it off is an art, there will always be small amounts of it left inside the frame rails. The top of the spare tire is where I get alot, thats a pain in the butt to clean without dropping. To the sprinkler idea... Not bad!!! I'll have to try this, I know it wont get everything but its not a bad idea! I usually just go to the car washes with the big bays and use the high pressure hose to blast the under carriage, engine bay, etc. Not the paint of course.

I'm 4WD, but just have to show the flag. We don't have cakey mud here, but can't wait till I get back home.... mmmmm bayfront mud flats!
