Tailgate Hitch Step

Has anyone ever purchased and had one of these hitch steps?I am vertically challenged (and puberty is long gone..lol) and have a hard time getting in out of the back of the truck and thought this may be a good option.
I like the idea of having the tailgate down and being able to step up into the back.Anyone have one and if so how do you like it?

It's similar to that, but looks a lot "cooler" and could also protect your bumper. I personally don't own either, but I would like the the Rhino step one.

 

There's a few folks on here with hitch steps, but the ones I've seen look more like this:

Thanks for the suggestions,guys...They are definitely cooler looking but I'm kinda looking for something that extends with the tailgate down...And you want to see tacky??...watch me trying to get into the back with the gate down..At 5 foot nothing every little step helps..lol. Thanks again!

I have the GoRhino hitch step that was linked to AutoAnything. Its okay for what you pay I guess.

If you're just looking for a step to help you get into the bed, it'll work well. It won't help you if the tailgate is down though. Its really not that stout and it rusts from the inside out, so definitely take the end caps off and paint it if you get one.

He made it 36" wide for me, so its the same width as but much beefier than the GoRhino. Just gotta paint it and slap it on!

That is exactly what I need as well. The stock bumper is not designed well to be used as a decent step when the tailgate is down.

 

If you go with the first one, I might be able point you in the direction to get it cheaper..
I own it.. Its pretty good. While I agree with the looks of the Go Rhino, I too needed something to get into my bed with the tailgate down...
Its very sturdy, but when you first stand on it, it will give a little shutter...
I like mine, so I'd get it.. Its cheaper than the others too.. I got mine for $20.. with free shipping!, But I'm not sure if the seller I bought from is still selling 'em that cheap...

 

Well..after finding out the average price of the amp bedstep I think I will probably go for the Bully one..and save a couple hundred dollars for something else for the truck.Logically,it's good to hear from someone who has one and I definitely would be interested in the seller you got yours from.The cheapest I have found is $49 with $10 shipping to Canada.

I tried looking but can't find a picture, but there's a single step ladder looking thing that mounts to the tailgate and folds inside when not in use. With the tailgate up, you can't tell it's in there. Anyone ever see those, it looks like the ford tailgate step except it doesn't slide into the tailgate.

 

I have seen those..just don't know how solid they would be stepping on them.

They seem pretty good, but for the $200+ price tag it's ridiculous. And it doesn't look like they make a mount for the Tacoma.

The Cabela's one was what I was talking about. I'm not sure, I don't know anything about them, but that was the first thing that came to mind when you mentioned a step to get into your bed with the tailgate down. Good luck, let us know what you go with and how it works!
