I lost a wheel center cap a few weeks ago, a friend asked me today if it might be covered under the 36 month 36000 mile warranty...............I don't know if it would, it would be nice and I will call Toyota tomorrow.

Anyone know for sure if it is?

I would think not but if you want to discuss it with the dealer more power to you.
It may have been their fault if they had the wheel off or something.
I have a feeling they will go with the somebody stole it defense.
    Best of luck.

    ...Good Luck Sir, Good Luck...

They have a hard time covering what they are supposed to cover and warranty, in which I mean the TSB and such.

Doesn't hurt to ask. If the Service guy is a good guy he might go for it. All he can say is no.

things like this aren't covered under warranty and/or extended warranty...

I had the middle console latch brake on me...toyota wanted to charge me $300+ for the entire middle console when all I needed was the latch...needless to say that warranty didn't cover the latch because its not a power train part like the engine, tranny, rear diff, etc...I ended up buying a used middle console off a friend of mines for $120...now I just need to sell the middle console lid to make some money back...beats spending 3 times that much for a $5 part...argh

If the dealer has been doing your tire rotations and such, probably. Otherwise, it'll just be a wear item. Doesn't hurt to ask though, never know.

For a problem like yours I would've imagined it that it would've fell under the bumper-to-bumper 36k warranty for a defective console latch...that is if youre still eligible, of course. Now a missing center cap I doubt, but what's the worst they can say.
