Unhappy access cab rear seat issue....added pic please look again!

Dumb question, but an honest 1. I searched already and saw nothing, sorry if I missed something.

Today the g/f and I went to get some groceries, and we folded the rear seats down (access cab) and the passenger side jumpseat "cover" came undone in the back. I compared it to the driver side one and tried to figure it out. Maybe its real simple, but due to 3 hrs sleep in the last 24 or so anything is possible.

Thanks in advance

~Brock

Are you referring to the storage compartmant door (that came off)? Or are you talking about the padded seat itself?

I looked and did not see how to make the 2 ends of the seat cushion cover meet/lock in place.

Are the ends just tucked between the cushions?

It might be easier if you posted some pictures from a few different angles; I looked at the FSM blow-ups and could not tell much from just the illustrations.

That should help someone. I have a regular cab, but have friends who own Access Cabs, and have been in and out of a few, although not lately. I have to drive by a Toyota dealer Tomorrow (or later today since it is 2:03 ESDT) and if I have time I will stop to look a bit.

I have seen other upholstered items with that type of binding and some use clips to hold the 2 ends together, some use a hollow "U" channel to slide over both pieces to hold them together and some that of the 2 black channels; 1 has a male tab, and 1 has a female groove that interlock together using no fasteners.

I went out and looked at my rear seat and it looks as if they stuff it in that channel you see in the foam padding. I don't know if a machine some how takes those 2 black strips and puts them in the channel in the foam and some how it is either glued or it bonds together with heat? It was hard to tell with out sticking my finger in that seam with out mine coming apart

No dice? I hate going to the stealership but it sounds like my only option right now...No one else has had this problem?

I went out to investigate and have found your problem.

The two pieces of cloth meet in the middle between the two pieces of cushion. On the end of each peice of cloth there is the little black peice of plastic that you keep seeing. On the top part (or closest to the front of the vehicle when flipped up) has a little channel on it. Push this peice into the the area where to two cushions meet. Then take the rear peice (flat edge) and push it into there. For me I heard a little click when it was done. All fixed.

Two peices

Up close

The front peice, this is what you push between the cushions first.

Push the first peice in.

Then push the rear peice in until you hear a little click.

And your done!

Hope that helps man!
